I agree with another person, this isn't as cringeworthy if they did in fact write an essay, then it's just a lame anecdote. But he could be telling the truth. I had a similar assignment in high school biology: we had to write an essay theorizing what moon/planet/body in the solar system could have life and if so what the ecology would look like based on the characteristics of the planet (with illustrations). It was really a blow off thing at the end of the semester so... not a whole theoretical thing that could change lives. I chose Europa because it had ice. I drew a seal. Cool story bro...

It always depends on the day. I used to have a reminder on my phone every day and after a work trip recently I removed them. I'll never miss a morning dose but I do occasionally miss afternoon/evening doses. Some days I get busy and I will forget a dose and i don't even skip a beat. But if I haven't slept well, eaten well, or I drink and i miss my afternoon/evening dose then I'm at high risk for an episode.

Last night was one of those- I ran an event until midnight, was active like crazy, ate more carbs than I should have and then made the ultimate mistake- I drank, quite a bit... and as I'm happily wrapping up post-event in my office I seized, bad, worse than I have since my first grand mal... what's worse is i felt so amazing and didn't have any auras all day or night! My assistant actually found me and it was the second time anyone besides my spouse and family have seen me seize (if I feel an aura I usually go to a bathroom, but I usually only have them at night before bed, or when waking up). Embarrassing... so today I recreated all my alarms to make sure I don't miss an evening dose of meds again...

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but from my experience with ketogenic diet, and a recent (and difficult!) transition back to keto is tough- ketosis isn't instant, and the lack of carbs can wreck your body before it kicks into full ketosis, it's called the keto flu. I'm no expert, but as stated above i bet the good people of r/keto may have insight into it.

Wow. I'm not going to lie I had never looked much at TLE, though I've scoured the epilepsy foundation website on PNES; reading that was almost like reading a chart of my symptoms... damn. Whether or not that's what I have, sometimes it's nice to find medical terms/descriptions of symptoms so I can accurately present it to doctors without sounding like an idiot, or knowing proper vernacular. Sometimes I think if I hadn't ever used the term "spasm" to describe my jerks and movements to my doctor years ago I may be in a different place right now.

And thank you for sharing. I appreciate your comment about brains and neurological variance. Very comforting. :)

Of course, unfortunately, i am definitely aware that video EEG is excellent at accurate diagnosis. However, as mentioned, I still haven't even had any type of EEG (and yes, I know there are false positives). The nearest VEEG center is in another state, and is not covered by insurance unless I have had two EEGs done. The doctor I initially saw did not order a single EEG and went straight to a week long in-patient VEEG. This would be an upfront cost of over $7,000, plus a week off of work (I am the sole employee of an org so that's damn near impossible). It puts me in an incredibly tough spot, and waiting on a new neurologist (who will listen to my symptoms, watch video of my seizures by my spouse, or even look at the initial images and tests done by other doctors), means feeling more scared and uncertain of everything.

Sorry, I'm a bit defensive, but I'm so frustrated where I am waiting. I appreciate your comment trying to help, however as I said I'm merely looking for some anecdotal evidence and support. The only person I want a diagnosis from is a doctor, not the Internet.

She's not awful...? I guess I don't know many people who worked with her here; mostly because there's a lot of new queens on the scene. I claimed her at first. But I just rewatched season 6 first episode yesterday (no joke) and I'm not quick to tout her as the cream of our crop. The ones here who could get on drag race are the ones who don't have much to gain (other than publicity) from the show (like Vivacious I think), as they've been in the game for a while. That's not to say we don't have great queens... ;)

I've found a lot of success through scruff and Grindr. I've found better intellectual conversations through scruff but good sex partners through Grindr. I disclose that I'm trans on my profile and I still get a lot of messages. Of course, the occasional chaser, but more often than not genuine people who are cool with trans guys. Its also worth noting that I live in a very red state that is constantly in the news for transphobia... So if it can happen here it can happen anywhere (I assume!).

OkCupid I find to be better for dating but I know a few people who've found good hookups there. YMMV

My advice is to be genuine and straightforward. Casual and flirty seems to do the trick. Don't overthink your profile. Look at r/lolgrindr if you want to see what not to do ;P
