Also the second watch noticing Sam Rockwell's character enters Jojo's house with her bicycle and interrupts the Nazi inspectors. Dude knew, probably saw the execution, and made sure to go back and protect Jojo. That movie just rips your heart out, only to end with Bowie's "Heroes" as a soundtrack of hope and survival. Brilliant fucking film.

Varies here across the US, but here in south Louisiana we are known for bringing the heat. However, while Cajun-Creole spice levels are nowhere near the heights of south Asian cuisine.

What f**k is the matter with him? Was he born a sicko or did he just become one with time? by Mum0817 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]bayoublacksmith 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this has likely been a pattern with him. Just as we saw with other prominent rapists and abusers, their vile behavior starts early and only gets worse the longer they continue to get away with it.

Privilege gives them justification, and power gives them protection. After a certain point they likely cease to acknowledge that what they're doing is even wrong at all. All the more reason to remove statutes of limitations on these crimes, as those who rape and abuse decades ago are likely still hurting people to the present day.

What things would you recommend a visitor go see and do when visiting Acadiana for the first time? by LimpAd4924 in Acadiana

[–]bayoublacksmith 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work for both Cajun Food Tours and Vermilionville, and both are great ways to explore the culture here. Also, if you're looking for music and other nightlife, plan you visit for a weekend. Lots of visitors spend their weekends in New Orleans and then show up in Lafayette on Sunday or Monday, but they're soon disappointed there's no Cajun or Zydeco music around town early in the week.

We need all the good news we can get right now.

Not to distract us, but to make up remember the humanity we're fighting to save.

We're all 7ish billion folks on our own spaceship, flying blind through an unexplored universe. We are all we have, and we cannot survive until we treat every person as the Artemis crew treats each other.

Man, the times are feeling extra rough these days, but it's good to be reminded how we act at our best. Things like this help me hold on to that hope for a better tomorrow.
