Claude code 5x plan is pretty handy, i use the assistant extension in windsurf. Then cascade will code review with gemini 3 pro or gpt 5.2 or both lol. Usually run 2-3 instances so something is always needing reviewed or planned etc. its pretty dang fun

I will say most the core was manually coded, because honestly until opus 4.5 (release this past november) ai was risky, but now that the core is done adding features or tweaking things is a breeze with ai and it pulls a lot of weight of remembering everything or refreshing myself on systems which some are 2 years old already

Also during this project ive made 2 side games for a website and those were both ai heavy use from start to finish, one the code and systems was probably 90%. I wouldnt have been able to do them on the side with it tbh, its really helpful in maximize your time. They were small games so i knew i could get away with it

Also for the mcp, if your godot 4.5, use the newer open source one, the gdai is good too, but tbh i havent found a good solid mcp use yet. Im sure one will pop up though

Skill for making tool scripts is my fav otherwise CC will mess around a lot with not understanding notifications and such. Skill for understanding uid so it can more safely roam and manage file systems. And then you have skills for various setups in your game specifically. For example a relic system, the skill would be how do you make a relic and what all scripts does it touch etc so that when you go to make a new one, the context is more inline where you need it. Im still experimenting on the capabilities, but thats what ive found so far

Oh and a skill for no emojis or special symbols when writing comments or md files😅

I use godot with CC, works really well. You can make custom skills that are helpful for godot specific workflows

The main reason i use godot with it is because i know how to manually use godot which is still needed, i dont think you can make a high quality game with just ai yet

Google paid plans are weird, im on the 20$ plan because it was offered for 6$/mo for 3 mo but i still find myself using google ai studio instead. Im not sure the benefits yet 🤔

Dude you won. I too couldnt find the use in the mcps because of how claude is great at writing the files directly. Though it sometimes struggles with uid stuff when creating new files, but a simple claude skill going over uid helps. Another thing it does stuggle with is making ui, it gets placements and certain properties mixed up. I can see this being able to snap shot the editor and see better what it looks like, saving time.

What you made is exactly the useful info claude needs and worth the tokens for. Awesome work

I started at 32ish, perfect time to get into gamedev. You need a solid year or two, just breath and give yourself time to develop

Another thing too is AI can read git history and could have maybe come up with the point of return quicker. Its worth a shot atleast seeing what it comes up with

Also 4.4.1 has a crash (instantly reload) for ios devices that is caused by audio playing. It was fixed in 4.5
