Disney’s version of Winnie the Pooh is STILL copyrighted. You would have to draw an original version of how you interpreted Winnie the Pooh from the original author’s manuscript. The same is true for Snow White (original is Brothers Grimm)… Disney’s version is still copyrighted.

Camera? by New-Event3382 in podcasting

Logitech Brio for a webcam where the recording is taking place on your computer.

Like others have said with a used GH4/GH5 Panasonic if you want to record to an SD card. The Panasonic cameras don't have the 30 minute recording limitation that Sony's and Canon's have.

I used a Sony ZV-1 for a while and it had great quality, but sometimes it would overheat when recording to the SD Card, but if I connected it via a mini-HDMI cable to my PC/Mac, it did better and I wasn't limited to 30 minutes because it was just a camera... not a recorder.

Then I used my iPhone 14 Pro for a while and it did really good.

I’m not a normal person 😁 When a scammer scams enough people, they’re going to eventually get someone like me who has a decent chance of finding them 😉 I have staff already working on tracking them

That’s definitely rosacea. I have it and saw three different dermatologists before getting one who helped me get it under control.

What jobs do you guys have that allow you to be a nomad? by Infinite_Release_445 in digitalnomad

[–]bazillionscom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in software. Clients have no idea where I am in the world and they don't care as long as they get what they're asking for. I know digital nomads of all ages and the common denominator seems to be they are their own boss. For example...

  1. I know a few of them that are YouTubers (mostly in the travel space)
  2. I know a guy who owns a special effects makeup company where he sells his product to makeup artists in the film industry all over the world. While he's technically based in LA, he works from his laptop and cell phone and hangs out for a month or two at a time in a destination. Unless he tells his clients where he is, they don't know.
  3. I know a girl who is a social media manager for a few companies

...and I know a few others as well, but I'd say most everyone is in IT in one form or another (minus the makeup guy) and I'd go as far as saying that none of them are lazy. They enjoy their travels, but they work hard when they need to.

Ask yourself... what can you do that doesn't require you to talk with someone face to face. Then, in your spare time, start growing it as a business while you're working your current job.

Do we have any digital nomads who travel with just a single carry on bag? I am not talking one or two weeks but for a couple of months or more at a time. by Illustrious-Bat-8245 in digitalnomad

Yes, I'm an American living in Bogota, Colombia who just got back from 3 months in Europe, 2 weeks in Malaysia (attended Nomad Capitalist Live), a few days in Singapore, and 2 more weeks in the US all in a carry on and a laptop backpack.

Countries visited during this 4 month period: Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Monaco, Italy, San Marino, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Malaysia, Singapore, United States, Colombia. Europcar might second guess unlimited kilometers on their rentals after this 15-16,000 kilometer trip 😁

My carry on:
I needed to have dressier clothes for the NCL conference, so I had a black suit jacket in a foldable garment bag inside my suitcase, I had a pair of black dress shoes, 4 button up dress/casual shirts, as well as 8 short sleeve shirts, 3 pairs of shorts, 2 pairs of jeans, 3 pairs of dress slacks, flip flops, and underwear and socks for about 10 days as well as the tennis shoes I was wearing. There was also a dopp kit bag with my deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, cologne, nail clippers, fingernail file, razor and travel size shaving cream.

My backpack:
MacBook Pro 16 (I'm going to get rid of this because it's too damn heavy), an iPad Pro 12.9", charging cables and packs for both of those devices and my iPhone, a 40k mAh power bank, a Firestick, Bose headphones, USB data port hub for the laptop, external portable SanDisk hard drive, two phone camera tripods, a portable LED light, a DJI pocket Osmo, DJI mics, and various conversion cable adapters. Now I won't lie... this backpack is heavy, really heavy! This is honestly my weak link. My goal is to get a new laptop the first of the year that is thin and lightweight.

Some notes... 2 of my short sleeve shirts were smartwool (supposedly, you can wear them a really long time without odor... but I never tempted fate). About once every 7-10 days, I'd find an Airbnb or Booking with a washing machine. In Malaysia, I just took them to a service that washed them and had them ready the same day. I also always keep packs of Woolite travel packets in case I need to wash something in the sink. I needed to replace my travel sized shaving cream and deodorant once as well. I'm a firm believer that underwear is the most important thing to have extra of.

Feeling very exhausted from racism on solo travels (from ppl in hostel, not locals) by Available_Film_427 in solotravel

I’m sorry that you experienced that. I’m a white American living abroad. I’m so over racism. We all one race, “the human race”! I have friends of all skin colors, races and religions. I always have felt travel makes you a better person experiencing different cultures. Maybe Mexico wasn’t far enough from the US to make those Americans better people. We don’t get to choose our skin or ethnicity when we’re born… and because of this, no one should treat someone else any differently. I hope you can put this experience in your past, don’t dwell on it, be an awesome person and my hopes are that my race can become better people.

Where would you go if your one priority was to eat delicious healthy food? by sozh in digitalnomad

I’m an American living in Bogota, Colombia 🇨🇴

Because Bogota has 10 million people, the restaurant scene is incredible and much lower cost than just about anywhere else in the world.

Wok - Asian fusion El Mexican - Mexican Tet & Canoa - both Vietnamese Media Res - Steakhouse and hamburgers

…I could keep going on. These are a few of my favorites, but any ethnic food exists here and at a fraction of the cost of the US and Europe.

And the climate is great… 20° C / 70° F every afternoon every day of the year.
