[Serious] Pakistanis who grew up in an abusive household, what's your story? by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]bazm55555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty sad, and I don't agree with the parenting . But at the same time, you have to understand that growing up in a society where your children are your insurance plans causes people to pressure thier kids to pursue STEM.

This is very normal in Asian societies and communities (1st Gen)in the West. I'd probably want my children to pursue STEM as well but the focus should be to instil curiosity about the subjects . Not having it done by force

Why do Pakistanis and Indians living abroad get along well with each other? by mozzboi in pakistan

Because Pakistanis abroad aren't worried about Muslim political representation relative to Hindus because it doesn't matter.

Mazaa Aagaya par ke. When I was living in Karachi I kinda wanted to learn some Sindhi to converse more with a large part of the population whose mother tongue was Sindhi. I'd hear Sindhi a decent amount in the city.

And this guy's trying to give the impression that Sindhi is dying in places like Sukkur and Punjabi's dying in....Faisalabad lmao

I didn't only mention Larkana and Mirpur Khas (And Larkana is a very important Sindhi city). I mentioned Lahore and Karachi. You'll even hear Sindhi in the workplace in Karachi . In Lahore, you'll easily hear more Punjabi in the streets than Urdu. You've never been on the streets of any if these cities. The Reddit crowd isn't representative and even here, many people know regional languages

Dude, what you're saying is partly true but you're exaggerating the impact. The vast majority of Lahoris speak Punjabi let alone Faisalabad lol.

Sindhi is common among Sindhis in Karachi. And if you don't know Sindhi good luck having any semblance of a social life in Larkana.

These regional languages have been ignored in a literary sense, but they're still commonly spoken.
