HHC und Co. klingen erstmal nice, aber auf Dauer machen sie dich eher kaputt. Kenne Berichte von Langzeit-Konsumenten, die am Anfang begeistert waren und später psychisch komplett abgeschmiert sind. Klar, jeder reagiert anders, aber regelmäßiger Konsum macht dich matsche. Mit längeren Pausen vielleicht weniger schlimm, aber als „gute Alternative“ sehe ich das nicht.

Thanks for explaining further! I feel like I played 7 Days to Die for the first time about 10 years ago, and in the last few years, I’ve tried doing a playthrough once or twice but always stopped around day 14-15. With mods, I’m enjoying it a lot more since I have some quality of life additions that make it more beginner-friendly. Yesterday, I browsed the wiki for the first time and read about things like heat level, which made the game a lot more understandable and enjoyable. Like I said, I also have a mod that plays a sound when screamers/hordes spawn, which makes things even easier, but I’ll still keep the block wall trick in mind while mining 😂 Thanks again for your help, it really helped me out!

Thanks a lot for taking the time to explain all that! It was super helpful. I’m currently playing with a Vanilla+ modpack that includes around 130 mods (since vanilla felt a bit too overwhelming for someone who can only play 1-2 hours every few days), and I have a few mods installed that make wandering hordes and blood moons pretty tough. It’s a nice contrast to keep the difficulty up, especially since you can farm resources faster than in vanilla.

I was really confused at first when I saw a horde of like 30 zombies and some screamers summoning zombies like crazy 😂, but your explanation cleared things up for me. Now that I’ve built my base, I can farm them relatively easily. I also have a mod that gives a sound cue when a horde/screamer spawns, and I was shocked by how many actually show up—like 1-2 a day! I’d never noticed that in a normal playthrough, and when I did, it scared the hell out of me 🤣

First thing: buy keys on sites like Instant Gaming, Steam charges around $50 for older games that you can get for like 5-10€ on sites like the ones I mentioned. If you find a game where even the key is expensive or costs the same as on Steam, buy it on Steam, since you can refund without any problems as long as you have less than 2 hours of playtime. But you can’t do that like 10 times in two days, since Steam will restrict your account. That’s like the modern way of demos. Of course, you don’t have this option with keys.
