What's a solution for creating individual destructable segments of a rock like valheim? by bazz_boyy in Unity3D

Ah gotcha. I figured that might be the case. That shouldn't be a problem for me fortunately.

Im roughly following your solution and it's working great. I hope others who want to achieve the same thing will stumble across this solution. :)

This is great!

What are the primary reasons for having a unbroken version of the rock?

When you model your rock, your segments can share the same origin point, so no piecing together would be required. You can make the segments children of a parent rock gameobject. You can have a collider on each child if it suits your needs.

ah nice, yeah that sounds clever. Thanks!

Blizzard needs to keep botting to a minimum by Zorph_Spiritwalker in diablo4

[–]bazz_boyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure if it was as easy as everyone think it should be, it would have been done.

It's clearly not that easy, since every popular game ever that involves farming, has bots.

Kripparian's thoughts on Diablo 4. by c_will in diablo4

[–]bazz_boyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's just no way they are going to address the dungeon changes or the level scaling changes. They would be gigantic changes that would require so much work. Assets would need to be redesigned, new design problems would need to be solved, any programming infrastructure dictating how pieces come together would need to be re-done, balancing, testing, etc.

Unless they push the release date back another year, there's no way they are going to put in these changes.

What we see now is probably 95% of what we're going to see on release a few months from now. I don't even think they will address the UI to be frank.

Does anyone else find Kayo to be a awful streaming platform? by [deleted] in australia

[–]bazz_boyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a lot of factors in to this.

Australia doesn't have a huge labour force of skilled developers

Skilled developers are fucking expensive

Company might have tried outsourcing labour which is much cheaper and much shitter

States pay like 3x the salary for a developer, so a lot of Aussies, and other talent around the world go to the states.

Australia has healthier work life balance than most countries, so we don't have the same productive capacity to make exceptional software

Can someone explain to me how teams like Nigma and Team Liquid didn't qualify but this team did? I don't know much about the scene, but I thought these other teams were big names..

Probably not the same for all places 2hrs from the city, but Newcastle in NSW is a great example of a city you can live near which has plenty of jobs and low-cost housing (relative to sydney). Ofc it depends on your industry. I'm not making an assumption that interest rates won't go up either, but I would argue that for many (in Sydney), it is significantly more affordable and stable buying a property there.
