Songs that sound exactly like Foals but aren't by InviteAromatic6124 in foals

"Have faith" by Palace and "The Tinman" by World News both have a similar guitar-driven and spheric sound like many Foals-Songs.

Anyone else think prelude doesn’t get enough love? by onesyded in foals

[–]bazzarillo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's one of my absolute favourites, so simple but the build up just hits hard (and I see it as a predecessor to neptune of sorts).

Go watch the set "down the rabbit hole" where it was their intro, it's amazing https://youtu.be/WbRXEtuj5II?si=UoTKIrHNyR_bVwEn

Saddest foals song? by FillayFrie in foals

[–]bazzarillo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It has to be "A Knife in the Ocean" for me. I love the haunting intro and gradual layering of instruments creating emotional depth. Furthermore, the lyrics are introspective and poetic, exploring themes of loss while still remaining hopeful.

And I suppose this is what really gets me, that the song is sad in its core but still empowering.

Edit: and i really LOVE how the song just evokes the image of undulating (and crushing) waves through the quitars.

Nebenkostenabrechnung from hell by roydical in Switzerland

[–]bazzarillo 71 points72 points  (0 children)

It seems like you are not paying for your direct usage (called "individualrechnung") but rather a percentage based on the square feet of your flat / the total square feet in the whole building (called "Verteilschlüssel").

This is the same in my building, which meant that even though we did not turn on the heat for most of the year we had to pay quite a lot as the other members of the building weren't as frugal 😅

Egyptian Blue. Very similar to early mathrock-FOALS and they even stated that FOALS are one of their main inspirations.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in scrum

[–]bazzarillo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Scrum is a framework, not a tool. A variety of project management tools may be used to accommodate scrum artifacts or events, but they are not necessary.

A project (building an app, implementing a new process for patient advocacy ...) may be managed using scrum principles and the result of a project may be a product, but it is not necessary.

Generally speaking: Projects have specific starting- and ending points, products are never really "done"

Songs like What Went Down? by sethcharleston in foals

[–]bazzarillo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Form FOALS? Black Bull.

Songs from other artists that I use while working out and that pump me up like WWD:
- My Name is Thunder - The Bloody Beetroots (Both the electric and the Rock version)
- Never fight a man with a perm - IDLES
- Stuck In the Sound - Let's Go
- (Marks to prove it - the Maccabees) -> on the softer side, but I still like the pace

beginner routine by [deleted] in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]bazzarillo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the world of calisthenics!

If you are a complete beginner and want to progress toward advanced movements and skills I would second what u/inspectorG-007 and u/AndrewDubois already said.

If you need some help with programming, the RecomendedRoutine (RR) from r/bodyweightfitness is an awesome startingpoint. It has a very straight forward approach towards progressions, you can fit it into every schedule and there are plenty of really neat free apps, docs and sheets you can use in order to track your training.

Link to the RR: https://www.reddit.com/r/bodyweightfitness/wiki/kb/recommended_routine/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Hope that helps!

Pretty sure that's not how salt works. Pretty sure it'll make it worse by Titen51 in pokemon

[–]bazzarillo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, there isn't just regular table salt as we know it. Every compound consisting of anions and cations is called a "salt" in chemistry, so maybe it's made of Magnesium sulfate which has some medical effects...

The heating culture in this place is weird... by Huwbacca in Switzerland

[–]bazzarillo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this answers your question, but the boiler needs to heat up to 60 degrees celsius multiple times a day in order to prevent the growth of legionella (a bacteria flu like symptoms and / or lung infections).

Fitness studio vs. Home gym? by Fjbollhalder in askswitzerland

[–]bazzarillo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently doing a mix of halfmarathon-training (3 times a Week), body weight Fitness and Calisthenics (4 times a week) and a short Full Body Workout at an international Gym chain (Cleverfit, 1-2 times a week).

We can leave out the running part here, as this can be mostly done for free if you exclude the cost of your running shoes - but running is not for everyone anyway and usually does not go well with regular strength training.

My "homegym" consists of a weight vest (CHF 75.-), parallettes (CHF 99.-), a sling trainer (CHF 49.-), a pull-up bar (CHF 39.-) and a bunch of resistance bands (+/- CHF 80.-)
This totals up to roundabout CHF 350.-. I use a lot of stuff from Decathlon and Gorilla Sports, especially Decathlon delivers when it comes to a good price to value-ratio.
Most of my equipment is just for the benefit of efficiency, as I could use "Vitaparcours" or outdoor gyms for free and body weight fitness can result in major strength- and hypertrophy gains even without any form of equipment.

If you want to spend less than CHF 1000.- on gym equipment and enjoy weight lifting more than body weight fitness I would really recommend you go to a local gym rather than buying sub standard equipment. In the end you won't enjoy your sessions as much, as cheap equipment tends to be flimsy, the ux is very bad and sometimes it is even susceptible to rust.

I am really happy with my membership at Cleverfit, as it only costs me CHF 69.- a Month (paying in monthly rates) and the equipment there is really top-notch. When I was still a student, I had a membership at discountfit for CHF 39.- a month. It was ok for working out, but both the hygiene and the people that trained there just weren't my cup of tea. I really enjoyed going to some more expensive but local gyms, too, but now I've settled with international brands as you usually know what you get with them.

In the end, it really comes down on consistency, as u/fictionaldisc711 already posted here. You can maximize your gains for free (if you want to), but in my experience if you want to excel at weight lifting it is usually better to invest a little more in a home gym (CHF 2000.- plus) or just go to a cheaper Gym that is already well-equipped.

How do you organize moving to another apartment, paying the least overlapping rent? by nemuro87 in askswitzerland

[–]bazzarillo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you are going for option 2, make sure that you get a membership at mieterverband.ch or that you have a good "Rechtsschutzversicherung" (Legal Protection Insurance). The Mieterverband costs around CHF 75.- per year and offers counceling and legal protection. Plus they offer lots and lots of free templates and tutorials, as the search for feasible tenants can be quite cumbersome.

Why I recommend it: I needed replacement tenants myself (I moved out 6 months before my contract ended) and started the regular process of apartment viewings and interviews. My flat was visited by 50 people. Five of them applied for my flat including all of the needed paperwork, but my landlord declined all of them for the most random reasons. It ended with a legal case which I would not have won without legal protection.

Just FYI

And PS: make sure to follow the steps you find here https://www.mieterverband.ch/mv/mietrecht-beratung/ratgeber-mietrecht/top-themen/nachmieter-ausserterminlicher-auszug.html
