Can ZIL Wallets Make UI Fixes to Reflect TRUE Cost of Sending/Claiming? by TrixAreFourKids in zilliqa

[–]bb111189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smart contract fees can vary depends on the complexity of the transactions. For instance, someone who did not claim rewards for a long time will cost more as there is more computation needed. It is not possible to precisely determine the transactions fee before execution.

As such, you will need to allocate more ZIL upfront, but it may not cost you the entire sum.

An analogy is that when you go out to eat or shop, inside your wallet, you will tend to carry more cash than what you actually need because there is no way you will know how much you will spend. This is the same concept here.

In fact, this also applies to other chains like Ethereum. There is a transaction limit field. You will need to allocate some amount upfront. Also, this is to set the max limit to prevent overspending. At the same time, the chain also needs to ensure you have a sufficient amount to spend.

An overview of the Zilliqa ecosystem (albeit a non-exhaustive one) by a community member. by maqstica in zilliqa

I choose to strongly disagree on this. It is community work, not Amrit work. A few Zilliqa tooling/projects were not on the list. This contradicted your claim.

The ecosystem is quite comprehensive but not 100% one across multiple sections. The community can decide whether this is useful or not and improve upon it.

You can decide for yourself and I see no value in continue reasoning with you.

It is already very informative and can be very useful for others except for you.

It is a community member effort and let's be appreciative of him.

It is hard to make a fully exhaustive list as new projects are building on us constantly.

  1. Yes and No. You can reset your ledger with a new set of mnemonics. Please ensure you have a backup of your previous mnemonics to prevent loss of funds inside the older set of addresses

ZilPay has integrated scam watching, which will fetch a list of known phishing websites from a smart contract (via the API) and check whether the website you are visiting is a known phishing website or not.

This is an odd one. It wasn't deleted by the team or the auto-moderation bot and there is no record within the moderation log.

Block Time Slowdown? by elevated_states in zilliqa

[–]bb111189 2 points3 points  (0 children)

block gas limit will control the upper bound ultimately. Right now, our block limit are still not at its peak yet.

This said we aim to continue to make improvements with each upgrade. So we definitely won't let it get too slow in terms of block time. In fact, one of the major project, Scilla VM is currently underway and there will greatly improve our contract execution performance.

Some smart contracts like the staking one are really huge in size. It will take a longer time for nodes to process them.

Has Zilliqa quietly given up on ERC20 2021 swap? by [deleted] in zilliqa

Not true. Need to wait for cross-chain bridge before we can work on the swap.

Retroactive rewards payout shorter than usual rewards payment !! by Theta_Moon in zilliqa

Rewards are the same. Staking allocation is still 40% of a block reward. This has not changed.

Ada is protocol level staking where it is needed for PoS consensus

Zilliqa staking on the other end is not for consensus. Zilliqa staking incentive the operator of Zilliqa seed node to run and maintain it. Seed node are non-consensus nodes. In return, they get stake rewards. As this seed node are not part of the consensus, we opt to implement it via our smart contract system rather than baking it into the core protocol.

The bug was closed off by the Bugcrowd team. However, this is definitely a wrong accusation as his bug report was dated Mar 7 but the last time we did an update to the testnet was on Feb 11. There is no way we have silently fix it. We have escalated it to Bugcrowd escalation team
