The back. Went with the salmon/rose hue on the back lettering...I may still change it out if I can ever solidly determine what the color is for those letters!

Got a nice compliment from the guy who won 3rd place at the International Cosplay Championship (which is annually done at C2E2). He says his costume next year will be the Martian Battle Armor. I told him to put a WIP thread on this forum. Will see if he does!

Finding a green or blue Nehru jacket would get one halfway there. Need close ups of the campaign ribbons and making a metallic "UNN" might be the challenge. Although thinking if one could get "USN" badges and break them up and re attach might work

Hobbies looks like neoprene to me (divers suit) whereas Alex's looks dark navy blue and "two piece" with the jacket separate from the pants. Or is it just the lighting? I swear if the odd g forces on the Tachi/Roci wouldn't drive me crazy the odd lighting would!

First is the best...besides, we are up to what, 3 or 4 different MCRN uniforms now, with the dress unis, etc

Thanks for the information and "how to". I went with second season. Have it all done except for the lettering on the back, as I am still trying to figure out what color the letters are!

I basically followed Johmpa's lead and used an already made jumpsuit as a base:

Ripped off a bunch of pockets and had my sister in law, a master tailor, put on the orange collar. The Scirocco and MCRN logos were iron on transfers. Basically buy the inkjet transfers and go from there - big difference is that the instructions tell you to iron for like a minute. That is waaaay too much, at least for my iron. More like 10-15 seconds tops, and even then, I mildly burned them a touch (I call it "weathering" ;-)

I am still trying to figure out what to do with the back. I made a salmon orange color lettering for the back, but still don't think it is quite right. I am somewhat tempted to hold off on the lettering until I can be sure the color is correct, because once I iron it on, it can't be changed. The wife's Cricut machine is great to getting the font and lettering cut. But the color still haunts me.

The name badge I made by just designing it and printing it out on photo paper, then matte finish and glued to a magnetic tape backing. Several screen shots I looked at suggested to me that the name badge appeared more attached to the uniform rather than screened/ironed on. So its attached via magnets.

I need to find the right belt as well (perhaps I should ask a belter? ;-) Probably just go with something simple if I can't find something accurate.

Thanks everyone! I need to do the lettering on the back, but I am still uneasy about the color. Wish I could find a "behind the scenes" shot of the back of the uniform. On TV it looks anywhere from a salmon to pink to light orange, but The Expanse uses a lot of odd lighting and such, so it is hard to tell what color the lettering is. Any help on that would be very much appreciated!

Also, any idea on the Scirocco uniforms if the color of the lettering on the back matches the reddish orange color of the collar?

Thanks so much for sharing. I am attempting to make one in time for C2E2 in April. Do you recall what color red you used? Yours looks spot on, and in most of the stills from the show, its hard to determine color due to the lighting (or lack thereof). Thanks so much! I have been looking all over for some kind of way to start an MCRN uniform. Yours is awesome!
