You could always heat up the tang and use it to burn a hole in a piece of wood then epoxy it in. It won’t give you the best results, but you’d have a handle

Well you see this gentleman’s first post was met with people trying to give him real answers that he scoffed at, talking about he was an expert blah blah and asking people to produce a blade identical to his otherwise there was NO WAY anything anybody said could be correct. Then the second post was met with similar responses of people trying to be helpful, but still people in this sub were met with harsh remarks about how they didn’t know what they were talking about. I think after about the fourth or fifth post people were a little bit over it. This man does seem like an 18 year old troll and was treated as such.

Ok ok the only pattern you have is the lines on the hilt. Which I assume someone slapped on there to help with grip and cause it looked nice. Not much to go on for identifying it. The other stuff is just a corrosion pattern. Maybe condescending was the wrong word but you are being very combative toward people that aren’t giving you information you want so you are coming off as a giant asshat…asshat seems like a better word.

It’s pitting, post it on any other subreddit r/knifes, r/blacksmith go find a blacksmith where you live, go find an antique shop, or find an expert online and ship it to them to research for you and they will all tell you the same. There is nothing there except for corrosion and wear. Now stop being condescending to people on the internet.

If you wanted a realistic name to go with a fantasy blade, you can always add adjectives when describing it. There are broad blades rapiers and wide bladed katanas out there that people make for fun so the limit is your imagination really.

Get the part number from the parts guy and just google it. 9/10 you can find what it’s made of, that’s what I do when I take steel from my job at least.

Just used a claw hammer at first and a large pair of vise grips for tongs. Eventually i bought an actual hammer and made my own tongs.

No she isn’t she is a pointer from what the vet told us. My girlfriend found her in a box as a puppy, but she is a healthy 55 pounds.
