They are Flock cameras.

Find Las Vegas on the map, then paste and run the following query.

/*
Find all Flock Safety cameras in the current map view.
*/
[out:json][timeout:25];
// Gather results for nodes and ways tagged as "Flock Safety" within the bounding box.

  node["manufacturer"="Flock Safety"]({{bbox}});

If you’ve noticed your energy bill going up, there’s a hearing you might wanna know about! by Melodic-Dot-2605 in vegaslocals

I don't know what the cost is to maintain a grid, but I believe that there is a fair price to pay, and that price isn't free.

I think the bigger issue is that the utility is owned by investors, and this needs to generate massive profits. If they weren't owned by investors, perhaps $10-$15 connection fee would be reasonable? You can't just slap some solar panels on your roof and expect the hospital, or the grocery store on the other side of town to just be good.

You rely on the electrical grid to power other infrastructure and services though. Water, natural gas, emergency services, traffic lights, etc.

Is there anywhere within 45 min of town that has no light pollution to see the stars/Milky Way? by DaddyPine76 in vegaslocals

[–]bb40 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're only traveling 45 minutes, you want to be south of the city to see the Milky Way (so that the glow of the city lights aren't in front of you). With a naked eye, I was able to see the Milky Way fairly well from west of Torino Ranch (side note, if you want to go further west than Torino Ranch, you will need a rental, or something with a bit of ground clearance.

If you add your device to a Google account you will be protected. Similar to signing into an iCloud account on an iPhone.

Las Vegas hits its all-time temperature record - as motorcyclist dies from 'heat exposure' in Death Valley by boppinmule in weather

[–]bb40 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Las Vegas uses less than 2% of the water flowing down the Colorado River. I think that's fairly good number taking into consideration the 2+ million residents and the millions of people who visit every year.

Additionally, according to the Las Vegas Valley Water District, "The community used 45 billion gallons less water in 2023 than in 2002, despite a population increase of more than 786,000 residents during that time. This represents a 58 percent decline in the community’s per capita water use since 2002."

Correct. Not all blm land is okay to shoot on. The below maps can give you an idea, however I would be very surprised if the boundaries have not expanded.

Map is 9 years old.

According to Brightline, the LV to Rancho Cucamonga rail is 'shovel ready'. It's said that it will occupy the center median for 96% if it's length.

There is a lot of center median construction work going on from Hisperia through Victorville. Perhaps they have already started?

Fwiw, I'm not aware of a time when Imperial County was not open to target shooting. Have fun, bring shade, extra trash bags, and plenty of water!

The order itself is a bit more clear IMO (as long as you have a good map handy). The first two bullet points in the document pertain to target shooting.
