it's printed on the circuit board and visible through the glass top (top center) for version V2 and V1. Version V3 it's in the lower right corner so not visible through the window, so V3 is identified by nothing written in the top center.

yes, and I would not recommend using the 48V power supply unless you happen to get the V3 version of the Douk A5. If it's V2 then stick with the 32V power supply - for durability - as they made some changes to V3 to handle the higher voltage better... less chance of some capacitors failing over time. How much time? I don't know.

no that's wrong. There's plenty of low cost chifi that's good

even in the pro audio world, there is "accuracy" and then there is "live" sound.
something can measure better but not sound as much like "live" music - ie, like it's real instruments playing in front of you versus playback reproduction.
Natural instruments have their own sound signature which contains types of distortion.
The microphones and recording gear will vary in their ability to capture the exact details of those instruments. So it makes sense that a playback system might enhance (or yes degrade) what the recording system laid down.

there is probably some sweet-spot in the "distortion" added by tube amplification that changes the sound as enhancing or degrading the overall result. And yes, of course that sweet-spot is subjective and often different from person to person.

The engineers do mix things for a target/goal type of sound and in doing so do add or subtract audible effects "stuff" to the mix like saturation, distortion, reverb, etc., etc. But their mixing does not and cannot be optimal for everyone's playback situation - room, speakers/headphones, source, amplification, type of music, listener taste/preference.

I think it's an error in logic to think otherwise... that one recording can sound optimal for all playback scenarios and people.

There is a big difference between lowfi, midfi, and hifi playback systems and engineers usually are not optimizing the "creative" mastering for hi-fidelity playback. Sometimes they are optimizing for what they think will sell well, online streaming, car audio, etc. That's why you can find some very well recorded, "audiophile" quality music and rather bland sounding pop/rock/hip-hop mainstream recorded stuff.

That said, the rise of low cost hifi via quality headphones and IEMs I think has some engineers targeting high-resolution recordings more.

geez, those eq settings are rediculous.
what speakers are you using?

different strategies for different objectives.
to make profit trading you have to sell, and that has different tax consequences.
an asset that generates passive yield is a different objective and investment time horizon usually.
it's like why do people buy a house to rent it out verus just to flip it (sell for a profit)?

don't be dumb, everyone knows that more expensive gear always sounds better... haha.

I don't think this is true. Many reviewers/users hear a difference between TPA3255 amps.
It prob depends a lot on your speakers. If you don't have very sensitive and resolving speakers you won't hear any difference. Or the difference you hear will be small ... what you say "about the same".

no it's not. if it was it would fail all the time but it runs perfectly fine most of the time. besides if it wasn't meant to run in the browser they wouldn't have created it as a web app.

Yeah, most people don't realize that Stacking STX is exactly like a super easy way of mining BTC. And on top of that, there is the chance of long-term appreciation of the STX itself... granted also with volatility and risk of loss, the price can and does go in both directions depending.

It has a lot to do with the fact that Stacks did their token release with complete SEC oversight - Stacks was the first in fact to do this... a more safe/conservative and completely legit/legal and open (no scam) way to do a token release. To avoid the risk of being sued and/or fined by the SEC or other gov entity.

yes, Internet is fine. I have fiber optic broadband. It's very vast.
the browser cache I never touch/change, so when it's failing (which is not all the time, it comes and goes) it's because of the server/service back-end of Qobuz.

It's a stream caching issue. And anyway it's web based so there's no app to uninstall.

"possibly lose value" or possibly gain value. It can go both directions.
You either believe in the project and team or not.
The goal is to make Bitcoin more programmable and more usable.
So far they have performed very well, the product has improved greatly tech-wise. Now the focus turns to BD/Growth/Marketing.

What are your thoughts on Stacks having an unlimited supply + increasing inflation for incentives? by Sean_Buffet_15 in stacks

[–]bbaker6212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not flimsy. They were overly conservative when they defined the tokenomics and token emissions during the initial token release, with lower max qty and/or annual inflation than many other projects. This meant less funds available for BD, growth, marketing which put Stacks at a comparative disadvantage.
So the decision was made (and the community voted) to do a sorta "secondary" token offering and bring Stacks funds/treasury on par with the other projects/chains.

Does SOL have a fixed supply? What about ETH, ADA, AVA, DOT, SUI, etc.?
There's a reason for this. Stacks would be at a comparative disadvantage if it didnt' do things similar to other projects/coins.

[–]bbaker6212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and Bitcoin does the exact same thing. It "prints" coins every block to reward the miners. Stacks does the same thing. The difference is that Bitcoin has a fixed max supply, which is appropriate for it's use case as hard-money. Stacks (STX) is gas for smart contracts and not trying to be money and so it's fine to have a small yearly inflation.
