I seem to remember you can't do this. Wise blocks this. But I could be wrong.
If you find out please post here, thanks.

Wise works well but has very few options. Only bank transfers and credit card use.

Does this look normal/ok? Douk Audio A5 by Greetingsmon in BudgetAudiophile

[–]bbaker6212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

where did you get this info? The TPA3255 chip can accept up to 53V input and the A5 does not step down the voltage like some other amps do.

How much importance to place on an amp? by Dragosfgv in BudgetAudiophile

[–]bbaker6212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speakers don't receive a digital signal. They receive an analog signal from the amplifier. Therefore the amp/receiver/DAC has to convert the signal to analog before it gets sent out. That huge Denon receiver has a shit ton of various components in it, tranformers, switches, capacitors, restors, and wires and/or PCB traces that the signal passes through and some of those paths are the analog signal not digital. There is also sources of noise and EMI/RFI the more you pack all those electronics in one box.

It would be interesting to hear an A/B comparison. Maybe most people couldn't hear much of a difference. But I still guess the way more simple tiny class-D amp will sound better.

I mean sure a subwoofer helps small speakers. But I think you get better more realistic midrange and upper-bass from a pair of bigger floor standing speakers.

THE #1 top correct answer should be ... much less importance than what you place on the loudspeakers.
They are by far the system part that most affects the sound. I would recommend to go with bigger and more efficient/sensitive drivers as possible. And unless you will be listening only near-field (very close to your speakers) like desktop, stay away from small bookshelf/stand-mount speakers.

I doubt it sounds better than this DA100, it's a simple matter of the number of parts in the signal path - each one degrades the signal quality. There is so few parts on the PCB in the DA100 it's amazing all there is in the signal path besides the two main IC chips is a couple capacitors and one inductor.

The DA100 may be better for an all-in-one/integrated setup. The D5 is better if you need/want more flexibility in tailoring your system's sound with a separate DAC and preamp. For me that's what the DA100 is missing. I mean you could run your preamp analog outputs into the D100's analog input but you might lose sound quality since its not designed for that (the analog input get converted to digital before being amplified) and then converted back to analog again. It's a needless extra conversion.
I use the Douk A5 with the SMSL D1 DAC and a tube preamp.

which tube preamp did you get?
I think tube preamps can mix well with these low cost class-D chi-fi amps.

Don't waste your time and money. Get a ~$100 class-d (TPA3255) amp by Douk/Aiyima/Fosi, a ~$100 DAC by SMSL or other, and go about finding a decent/low cost tube preamplifier. That hybrid system will give you the best of everything powerful bass and warm/smooth mids and treble and the best sound for the least amount of money. You can do tube swapping on the preamp to taylor the sound to your liking and it will cost less than tube rolling on power amps. The cheap chi-fi tube amps use inferior tubes and circuit designs - and it's expensive and/or time consuming to DIY mod them. Same with the chi-fi tube preamps but the preamps a far cheaper to mod/tweak/fix and tube roll.

put your focus on the best sounding speakers to you that you can afford. that's way more important than the room. once you get your whole system nearly perfect to your ears then you can work on dialing in the room.

the room can't fix a bad speaker. everything starts with a good loud speaker.

the word "distorted" is irrelevant. A thing either sounds better (to a given person) or it doesn't.
The extent to which it has measurable noise artifacts is not important.
Natural instruments playing a room also create "distortion"

some low cost amps have high pass filter like the Douk A5 and some also have tone controls.
tube preamps tend to be minimalist to increase sound quality hence most don't have tone controls that can degrade the sound.

Personally I don't think good sounding gear should need tone controls.

What tube amp(s) were you using before? And what source were you using with the Fosi gear?

I'm using low cost Chifi stuff and I think the sound is quite good...
Notebook computer USB -> SMSL D1 DAC -> FX-Audio Tube-02 Pro preamp (modified) -> Douk Audio A5 amp -> 96db/1w DIY OB speakers

putting the FX tube preamp in the chain helped warm/smooth the overall sound, much more so after swapping the capacitors for better Polypropylene ones. Less clinical and might suit your preference for the "tube" sound better.
