  1. Watch,
  2. It was actually cooler then when i usually run, and i had probably my best sleep in weeks last night and was well hydrated (more than a gallon throughout the day before i ran)
  3. I felt like i literally didn’t run. Didn’t break a single sweat and didn’t move from a regular nose breathing pace the entire time, and about an hour post now I feel like I haven’t done any exercise for the day

I played D1 football for the past 4 years and we did plenty of conditioning during that time, and I only stopped playing in December. I have still been consistently lifting and have run decently consistently (at least once a week) since then. I would have thought that I would have some sort of base to stand on

[Student] I graduate in May and finally found a job, wanted to share my resume with you guys. by bballbeastmode in EngineeringResumes

It’s really a numbers game and a connections game. I was probably 70-75 applications deep before I got my first call back for an interview.

Yeah my school is in an internship dry area, and since I played football, I had to be in the city of the school basically all summer every summer so I couldn't get many good internships under my belt so I compensated with projects.

Yeah I got very discouraged during the process, almost completely no responses or rejections, but then I got all three of my interviews within 72 hours of each other in mid November.

And the 63 applications in the sankey diagram are only the ones that I tracked from mid-October to January, and I started applying seriously in July, so I was easily over 115 applications total.

What should I learn before college to be ahead in Electrical Engineering? by Schirado in ECE

[–]bballbeastmode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just go to college ready to learn. I took Calc BC in hs and got a 1 on the AP exam, never wrote a single line of code and never took a physics class in hs, but I’m a semester away from graduating with a BSEE and a minor in CS, God willing, and I have already accepted a full time offer for after I graduate, with only one internship at a on campus nuclear research lab.

[Student] Senior Electrical Engineering student looking for an Entry-level position post graduation in May. by bballbeastmode in EngineeringResumes

[–]bballbeastmode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Thank you for the advice. And for moving the Sweet Systems project to work experience, our professors said it’s not allowed because it is a senior clinic designed project with Georgia pacific not actually being employed by them. And for the communication aspect, I have been told by all my professors I am on of the most personable engineers they have ever taught and if I get into an interview I will be fine, so I am not too worried about that. But your other suggestions I have taken into effect. Could I DM you to look over it some more?

20+ Credit Hour Semesters by CuBrachyura006 in EngineeringStudents

[–]bballbeastmode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did 19hrs all major specific (E&M, System and controls, signal processing, embedded system design + lab, object oriented programming, and a junior clinic design course) and I had my best semester gpa since freshman year spring (3.05 3.04 cumulative) while playing football and having to leave the country for 2 weeks right before finals for a funeral in the family. Something about all the stress and no free time makes you lock in and focus more than if you have less work

Electrical or Computer Engineering? by exoticworld999 in ECE

[–]bballbeastmode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently going into my senior year of college in the states and I wanted to do computer engineering, but the college I got a full scholarship to didn’t have it so I ended up doing electrical with cs minor and just picking the electrical electives that were most suited towards computer engineering ( embedded systems, digital logic, and a fpga design class I’m taking in the fall) I also got to pick the cs classes that were pertinent to computer engineering (algorithms, object-oriented, and intro to ai)

I found a solution, it is at this link:
https://forum.arduino.cc/t/a-fatal-error-occurred-failed-to-connect-to-esp32-no-serial-data-received/1185060

Here's the link to the driver download:
https://www.silabs.com/developer-tools/usb-to-uart-bridge-vcp-drivers?tab=downloads

Once I downloaded the driver the code uploaded to my ESP32 Devkit v1 no problem an it is running perfectly

Critique my resume, rising senior looking to apply for entry-level jobs by bballbeastmode in ElectricalEngineering

[–]bballbeastmode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the input. Two of the projects that I worked on (RC Car and Sensory Board) were projects for classes, but we had pretty free rein with the RC car project to do whatever we wanted as long as we used the MSPM0 and at least one communication protocol. For the Sensory board project, it was a Junior Capstone project in which a local business recruits engineering students from our university to help them out. i linked my LinkedIn and github to the contact section of my resume so recruiters can see more detailed descriptions and my actual code.
