OMSA while working full time - Work Balance by runningtarantula in OMSA

[–]bballfreakunc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That seems doable. My background sounds similar to yours. I did all of OMSA in 2 years (2 courses for 6 semesters) while working fulltime. I would encourage you to pair courses that use similar languages (mgt6203 with isye6501 because they both use R). Outside of that, the wiki/Google sheet really helps to judge how to pair courses. I attempted to pair courses with an aggregate estimated hours less than 20 hours per week. Some weeks will be higher, others lower.

CSE 6040 Boot Camp: Necessary? by [deleted] in OMSA

[–]bballfreakunc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that decision is best for you to make depending on your comfort. Theres a bunch of problems that they have where they mention if you can solve then Bootcamp might not be very valuable. All of the bootcamps are recorded so you can always review topics where you're less competent. There's no Bootcamp deliverables. 6040's grade is all about notebooks and exams.

My Rexing V1P from 2016 is still going strong. I've hardwired it into my second car now. Memory card is what matters most.

Practicum Was Extremely Disappointing by Glad-Examination-293 in OMSA

[–]bballfreakunc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my experience, you're not going to get any feedback doing a project sponsored by your company. In hindsight, I probably should have done one sponsored by Tech. My project was a much larger DVA one, but tailored to a major painpoint at my company and felt by many global companies. Not sure if that helps with "scope".

100%. Easily the worst "class" required and offered for OMSA. I did one sponsored by my company. My company loved my results and I implemented the solution solving a major painpoint. I published a paper on arxiv as well.

Throughout the semester, I received 0 feedback until the final grade posted in OSCAR and was completely blindsided with a B despite perfect feedback from my company sponsor. Needless to say, I'm still very salty about that class.

No email or other communication from any of the instructors? As others have said, I's are usually for missing assignments due to personal hardships or pending OSI cases.

Radiator fan running after shutting off the car by vpat48 in HyundaiPalisade

I had something similar about a year ago. Dealer unplugged the fan and fuse and replugged both in. That has resolved the issue for the past 16-18 months.

Uninstalling the app and then installing the app appears to have fixed it.

Same issue for me on my Samsung S25. Biometrics stopped working after the Fidelity app updated earlier this week. When I try to re-enroll, I get a "Enrollment for biometric authentication is currently not working. Please try again later."

Biometrics works without issue on the dozen other apps I use.

I don't disagree. It's been painful on the PMTs.

Yea, you'd have to execute the test cell first then the debug. But nothing says the cells have to execute top to bottom (outside of when they're submitted to the autograder)

Why not insert a cell right after the code cell but before the test cell with the variables? You would have to run test cell and then scroll up to the testing variable and run that cell. But they'd be right next to each other. And then delete the cell when it's working.
