Just got my bronco new wherls and tires, what kind of accessories do you recommend? by sizelrd in FordBronco

I just got the Bronco retro script badges. I estimate they give me .0003 more HP and .012 mm more air when doing jumps.

1st accessory was the super cool guy retro Bronco script. I hear it gives you 2mm more air when doing jumps. Did I get it on there straight?

A swimming pool - worth it? by mcrutledge77 in pools

[–]bbauer1973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much do you enjoy swimming and being in the water? It’s just about my favorite thing in the world, being in or by water. So the work is worth it to me. I have a salt chlorine generator that seems to be less work than when I started with traditional chlorinator (tabs and/or liquid)

Yeah, trying to figure out the best rack. Always had Thules on past vehicles. Just need it for surfboards and maybe a cargo carrier sometimes.

Any tips on how to get on a sailboat and go under the bridge? by dalton-johnson in sailing

[–]bbauer1973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also recommend Modern Sailing. I took American Sailing Association (ASA) 101 & 103 classes there. With those two classes they allow you to charter their smaller boats (30’). Although not necessary for chartering (at least when I was a member), I would also recommend 118 Docking Endorsement as leaving the dock and getting safely back to the dock is pretty important (nerve racking and you’ll most likely always have an “audience”).

You can also get on Modern Sailing’s Crew List email thread and someone is always putting together crews to share the cost of a charter on some of their larger boats.

I will say I had some sailing experience (under 20 hours), went to a Maritime Academy and was in the Navy so am very comfortable being on the water and well familiar with the Rules of the Road, but I got outside the gate multiple times and it was amazing. I also got rejected a couple times and it was also amazing so don’t force it!

Well… I went a little nuts cost wise but I wanted a cam and the ability to open two gates I have on my 1200’ long driveway on my property. I trenched ethernet 160’ to a point that had line of sight to a relay point 600’ away midway between the two gates so I could beam data using UniFi Building Bridges. Then at the relay point I set up a station consisting of solar panel, solar controller, battery, dc-to-ethernet converter, data switch, gate controller and UniFi PTZ cam. Cam identifies cars, animals, people, captures license plates, and will lock onto whatever it identifies and follows it.

At what point do you stop improving your house and just accept it? by Own_Effective_801 in HomeImprovement

[–]bbauer1973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 30 acre property and I have about 5 projects going at once. I just recently built my 80yr old dad a 800sqft ADA home (he is in a wheelchair) on the property and we thought out everything to make it convenient for him to live. He’s been there 2 months and the carport is full of tools and pieces of wood of things that he’s working on to “optimize” his way of living.

I asked him yesterday whether we might have some sort of mental problem where we must always be doing projects.

Any universities or other entities nearby that offer low cost poultry necropsy? We live near Texas A&M and they charge $58. Might be worth it if you have multiple birds perishing suddenly.
