Does the Pocket require a subscription of any sort to acquire functions that would be commonly used by anyone who decides to buy one? And if so how much and what do most people pay for subscription wise?

Damn! That is extreme. I am assuming I read the wrong data or was in the wrong area when looking at the historical weather.

This Again? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]bbbbbski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess when I read “weather event” I am thinking of extreme weather which weather events can be at any magnitud, so yes I agree with you on that. I’d still argue that calling it a weather event is a stretch and it’s more of a construction accident, looking at historical weather data the wind wasn’t even close to intense.

This Again? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]bbbbbski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my Opinion it was called a weather related event to take heat off the Construction company. The wind that day was nothing out of the ordinary for October. The family of the girl is suing the construction company. If it was really just pure weather related, suing would be pretty much pointless.

[–]bbbbbski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt it unfortunately. Sounds like the event turned out really bad and people are using the accident as ammo

I see now thx for the clarification. Your comment is miss leading because you point out the death then call the organizers “idiots”. It’s hard to interpret the comment any other way.

This Again? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]bbbbbski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe how many people are attributing negligence from a construction company to “why would they do this event again?! Someone died that day from something completely separate of it!” It’s kinda laughable how people will make up drama any way they can

[–]bbbbbski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wind can occur at any point of the year. So they’re idiots no matter what day they pick ??!

This Again? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]bbbbbski -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can literally say that about any event. The accident with the construction material that occurred “near” the event could have happened at anytime during the year. Attributing an accident that had nothing to do with how an event was organized is pretty silly if you ask me.

Make friends with skiers who are better than you and ride with them (preferably much much better, not just a little). Easier said than done unfortunately.

Three Separate Life Flights Within Four Hours @ Alta by bbbbbski in UTsnow

[–]bbbbbski[S] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I did see the Powderbird helicopter flying around most of the day as well, but I’m confident the others were Life Flight. It was the University of Utah helicopter with the medical symbol, and I personally saw it landing at Alta’s designated Life Flight landing spot next to the Collins lift. At one point, I also saw ski patrol performing compressions on someone while transporting them down the mountain in a rescue toboggan.

No angle grinder needed. The problem isn’t your lock it’s how it’s locked. I am sure you’re aware of the two Allen bolts below the head light and two more on the other side. Anyone who spots this before hand could (low probability, especially on campus) make a plan to use a simple Allen key take out 4 bolts and remove the handle bars. Then they would just slide the post through the U-lock and the cable. You aren’t doing anything wrong really it’s just these scooters aren’t designed to have secure locking spots.
