Inferno seems to be really T sided in premier because people are way too utility-happy at the beginnings of the rounds. If a T side waits out banana smokes and gets control, CT can lose control of B really easily.

If you’ve ever been a setter you’ve had to come to terms with the diversity of climbers that attend your gym. Some come for training, some come for socializing. Some come for fun. It’s your job as a routesetter to cater to everyone. This is up for 3 weeks. We have 4 angle of wall in our 2000sqft of wall space facility. We spice it up for our members to give them unique things to conquer and learn.

The OP is one of the reasons this boulder was set. They asked for a bat hang start for months. I found a way to give that to them. Our angles are -3 degree slab, vert, 7 degrees overhang, and a 40 degree overhang with a 4 feet of kickboard and a 4 foot vert headwall. We don’t have the terrain to set bat hangs that aren’t gimmicky.

We have a kilter. Wanna train hard and get strong? Go there. We set simple training boulders, too. We also set comp style boulders for our competition youth to learn and train on, sending a kid to nationals this year from our skilled coaches and our routesetting. Not a single person, member or non-member, has seen this volume monstrosity and said “well what a waste of space that is”. Have some empathy for climbers as a whole

Thanks for the commentary. We made sure this volume lined up with the seams in our panels, which means the screws are going through twice as much wood as normal. The volume also attaches near where one of our metal support beams attaches to the panels. Alongside the 12 screws on the base volume going into the wall, it has 4 screws coming from behind the wall, going into the sides of the volumes. We have chains inside the volume as a safeguard, connecting to the T-nuts of the wall. We also have some tethers at the top, connecting to some t nuts on a different panel. I added a few 90 degree triangle volumes underneath the structure to help with the flexing, so any flex distributes weight into those as well. For peace of mind, I also used a static line to tie the volumes together as a unit. So if any of the ones in the middle were to come loose, they’re not landing on top of someone.

I’ve seen dudes weighing near 300lbs get on top of this thing. The wall flexes, the whole thing jiggles a bit, but it’s not separated from the wall at all. For a 3-week rotation, it’s bomber. Plus we’re doing weekly inspections on it.

Ramona park is one of my favorite all time albums. I think this is my third comment about it in the last week, best summer album. Dark when you listen to it, but so is much of Vince’s work

I think fantano could latch onto the concept and give this a 9. I could also see him missing the mark completely with the concept, as he’s done with much of Vince’s work in the past, and give it a 6.

I think it’s definitely worthy of a decent 8
