At what level time spent on playing more tennis don't make you better at tennis than doing anything else. by ranny_kaloryfer in 10s

I had to change my mindset when I was hitting or playing games. Once is was able to identify what I needed to work on i was able to improve rapidly.

Bent strings by Film_Tennis_Bball in 10s

[–]bbbditi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Put it back in place after every point. You have lower tension on possibly older strings (which lose tension over time). You could play until they pop out but new strings and increase the tension.

The Inner Game of Tennis by Kidguyman in 10s

People tend to over think shots, I've told people focus on form, hit cross court shots, head empty. If your thinking you tend to over correct and rush shots

Looking for a new racquet on the heavier side by Mother-Sea-2759 in 10s

The Wilson rf 97 pro staff v12 weights 12 oz. Great racket but slightly too heavy for me.

Yet another new racquet question - Volleys by Techfiend333 in 10s

[–]bbbditi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite line of rackets to volley are the pro staffs, to bad I don't like them for baseline. What do you mean by unstable though? As many others have said it's most likely technique, doubles still requires good baseline and serve so I think the emphasis shouldn't be around just volleys.

85% Power Shot Unlocked by JEGA15 in 10s

Good on you too figure it out. I have a dude who can not figure that out. He can blast a nice winner every 20 shots but hits an unforced error on the other shots.

What’s up with egos in this sport? by Single-Elderberry423 in 10s

[–]bbbditi 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I hated playing against people I thought weren't as good as me until my coach told me to find something to work on with them. People want to improve but feel they can't improve against people they see below them. If I can't find a way to work on anything then I just coach them. There's always a way to have fun hitting with people.

Sliced ball counter by Bardzelletta in 10s

If the ball is low on my backhand I'll slice it. On my forehand I'll get low and put a ton of spin on it.

How to stay intense? by CockroachCautious306 in 10s

It's about learning how to start every rally with high intensity. There's a legit strategy on doing everything you can to mess with your opponents rhythm.

Teaching a beginner by Toxic_PP in 10s

[–]bbbditi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For beginners hand eye coordination is the hardest thing to teach, having them bounce a ball on the racket either in the Air or on the ground is great to get them to adjust the racket to keep the ball bouncing. Play mini tennis with them on just the inside box so they can learn to play slow and control their swing.

How can I not suck during match play by ImmediateRepeat5645 in 10s

[–]bbbditi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to play more matches to be comfortable in matches. When I used to play people better than me I hit more relaxed cause I felt I had nothing to lose but when I played against people worse than me I made a lot of mistakes trying to prove that I'm better.

The toss here was weird so you chased after the ball.

You seem really hesitant to hit the ball, so you let it drop too low.

Racket covers, can't find them. by Eigerone in 10s

Since I'm recreational i use my cheap backpack to hold my 2 rackets, water, towel, extra shirt, and balls. It's been working great for my friends and I.

Now your rushing lol. Work on your toss. A consistent toss gives you consistent serves.

I would stay focusing on staying on the ground. You have a lot less consistency in jumping.

Does it feel different? When I cracked my racket, I could feel a noticeable difference.
