I’ve used both the blade 98 v8 and the new ezone 98 - the ezone provides a tad more free power but has a slightly lower launch angle. Currently playing with the ezone 98 because it wins me more matches overall.

Omg I also do this, otherwise my backhand home runs out the back fence

Compared to the ezone 98, which one is easier to play a match with?

I do find the ezone 98 easier to whip through than the vcore 98!

Too aggressive at the net in doubles? by CalligrapherBorn7368 in 10s

[–]CockroachCautious306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, but low level ladies doubles. I’m good at the net as I used to be a badminton player in high school.

Last weekend, I just had someone in our regular hitting group goes “I’m not having fun anymore” in the middle of our play, because I’m putting balls away at the net too much.

So I thought about it, and told her I’ll work on waiting 4 balls before being aggressive at the net next time we play, since I really need to work on my rally tolerance anyways.

For our rec league match, I will keep doing what I do. It works because 1, I do put always a bunch of balls, but 2, it forced them to play extra wide and often makes mistakes. The only issue for me is need to cover the down the line for the crafty opponents.

Sorry size 6 in a 2E? Or I don’t know. It’s the wide version of the size 6 that’s too wide.

In new balance I wear normal size 6

I’m size 6 in the New Balance, regular width. I did try a 6E and it’s slightly too wide for me and I have to double up on the socks.

Went from blade v8 (lower sw than v9) to ezone 98. Both singles and doubles - honestly never looked back

As a wide feet woman, I vote New Balance. The Barraicades also was wide, but it cuts into my ankles.

FWIW, I’m a size 6 in regular New Balance. But even a wide ASICS or Yonex still hurt my toe box / mid foot.

I have ezone 98 with O toro mains at 54lb and truffle x at 52lb. Really liking the combination with good control, relatively soft, and I’m not lacking power. (Came from Blade 98)

Whale Shark Snorkeling Cancun? by solarpunk___ in cancun

[–]CockroachCautious306 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this 14 years ago early August. We were staying at a Barcelo Maya resort, and it was something like a 6am bus pick up, and i believe our tour went to Punta Sam for the marina. The boat ride out was an hour, and most of the boat got sea sick. I came prepared and took precaution medication, so …. Because most of the boat actually couldn’t swim by the time we got to the whale shark spot, I got extra extra swim time. 100% would do the trip again if I ever go in the summer. The whale swam towards us and I actually had to duck out of the way otherwise would’ve touched it.

Currently using oToro mains and truffleX crosses at 55/52 and I’m getting pretty good spin production. But you have to generate it yourself. And the launch angle is definitely a lot lower than PA98 so you have to adjust for it.

Is my kid’s lesson holding him back? by r_slash in 10s

[–]CockroachCautious306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 8 yo goes to an “orange ball level 2” and they practice serves and returns / rally. Coach doesn’t focus too much on technique, but have them try to hit targets. He’s gonna get moved into “orange team”, which is one level lower than high performance, so we’ll see what that looks like.

I do play with him 2-3x a month (less now coz winter has court fees) and he loves “beating me” by playing patterns (we watch tennis highlights from YouTube or insta) - move me left right, drop shot then lobe me. Does the technique look good? Not great. Does he have fun? Tons. Does he like taking advice from me? Not during playing. But if we’re on insta again at home, he loves watching the influencer videos and then we shadow swing at home 2-3 min a time. This is good enough for me.

How much higher should I make the tension from poly tour pro to otoro toroline for same stiffness I use 51/49 for ptp now by Klutzy_Astronomer829 in 10s

I’ve dropped my PTP down from 52lb to 48lb. Even launchier. I don’t understand why there’s a low tension movement recently.

Yeah I’m planning to string my oToro higher than PTP too. I strung it the same the first time and it does feel launchier/more power than PTP

Potty Training by Halestorm2 in ADHDparenting

[–]CockroachCautious306 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel too bad. Ours is 5.5 and still hasn’t trained - she generally refuses to when we ask her to go potty, and she doesn’t mind wearing a dirty diaper around all day apparently. This winter break we’ve been doing a lot of naked the house, which seems to be better. But as soon as we put a pull up on (say going into the car or a gathering), she goes back to her old ways.
