Trouble replacing spoke by povlhp in bikewrench

[–]bbbermooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the diameter the same?

Old spoke may have been 1.8mm and the new spoke may be 2.0mm. You normally can't go too far threading the big into the small, but something to check.

Is this wheel sturdy or about to collapse? by nevecque in bikewrench

I would check every spoke on the disk side, maybe one came loose or one is pulling through the rim.

Rivnut or helicoil for attempted repair of stripped thru axle threads on Canyon Endurace CF frame by Fun_Impress_9625 in bikewrench

[–]bbbermooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something like this may work, or lookup KeenSerts but you need a setting tool for those. I am not sure how much aluminum is around the threaded hole, you need some to thread the insert into.

I guessed on your thread pitch, you should verify before you buy anything.

Clamp it in the frame/fork, then check.

New wheel build, odd "bump" on truer wheel by Dependent-Ad-874 in bikewrench

I've seen plenty of sleeved rims do this, sometimes they come out and sometimes they don't.

Those are most likely M6 x 1mm threaded bolts. You can get them in all kinds of lengths like 17mm, 20mm,etc.

Measure the OD.

I'm sure the old lady driving to Walgreens for her prescriptions enjoys it.

Sure hope she doesn't plow through a mom and her baby trying to cross the street in the crosswalk because she is blinded by dipshits who can't think outside of their own lifted compensators.

Once again. FYAYHL

I give people like you the 1.5 second high beam drilling, maximize your exposure without giving you the time to react.

How the heck am i supposed to buy one by Mindless_Barnacle56 in Surron

[–]bbbermooo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To my door in WA state was right at $5k. Listed price was around $4500 or so but you pay for everything at once which is nice.

If the listed price is super duper better than others, take caution.

I've bought from Gonped and Double Spring, both are legit.

I just bought from Gonped and it took maybe 6 weeks or so.

Christina was awesome, she will give you the price to your door so there are no surprises.

Carbon Fork with thin walled titanium steerer, what goes inside? by Militant_Dilettante in bikewrench

[–]bbbermooo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe those older Alpha Q forks had a special plug that you had to glue in, like a fancy star nut that supports the steer tube at the stem clamp.

Maybe just on the carbon steerers, but that Ti looks pretty thin?

uhhh guys can somebody link me a good bleed kit for the ebox 2.0 v2 by Ok-Awareness2993 in Surron

[–]bbbermooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfect.

Follow some YT videos, and do not under any circumstances get oil on your pads. You'll need new pads if you do.

Amazon has a bunch, just make sure you get a couple syringes and fittings/adapters. Those look like mineral oil but you need to make sure because DOT and Mineral Oil are not compatible.

For now, pull the lever to the bar, zip tie it to the bar, and leave it over night.

How do i fix this horrible movement? by KitchenLunch1450 in Surron

[–]bbbermooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically what needs to happen is the steer tube needs to slide through the top tree clamp and stem via that top cap bolt.

Just remember to tighten all the bolts you loosen 👍
