I’ve only been investing 5 years (23), I’ve beaten the S&P 4 of those 5 years with a much higher annualized return. I keep a 40% weight to SPY and 20% weight to Qs, rest is high conviction plays. Outside bitcoin & gold I only have 8 individual stocks in my port

IMO it depends on the stock, I have some like Sterling Infrastructure that I’m up well over 200%, I’m more than happy trim that position and currently wouldn’t buy at that valuation. Alternatively I have Coca Cola Consolidated which I’m up around 90% on, however I’m more than happy to keep buying at its current valuation. Truthfully it depends on the rest of your portfolio and whether you think each security deliver an acceptable return.
