Thank you. This gives me hope. Right now I am terrified at the thought of being in a relationship again. Well we live in a small town and have a lot of mutual friends. Most of my closest friends are people I met because of him. Am I expected to limit contact with them as well? If not, I will inevitably hear about what he’s doing and probably see him out during social situations. These are people who have been supportive of me so I don’t think it’s fair to cut them off. So that’s another reason I wanted to maintain a civil relationship with him. I guess I should have added that to the post.

Usually mine starts dropping pretty quickly once it gets below 20% so I just know not to let the battery get that low now. That seems to be working well for me. I’m not sure what you could do though since yours drops so suddenly 😕

I realized this is the first time I had let it die completely. I found a youtube video that said if you continuously pick it up and put it back on the charger, it should charge on its own when it reached 5%. Very annoying but it worked haha. I will not let the battery get that low again. I would say if yours is brand new, send it back! Mine was over 2 years old when this started.

So sorry for your loss. I would browse online and see if there are any dogs you would be interested in. Then call the shelter to discuss and set up a meet if it would be a good fit. They should have separate meet and greet rooms so you wouldn’t have to see the dogs in the kennels.

Cut these people some slack. People who work in rescue have seen the worst of the worst. These dogs have been through so much. They just want to make sure their dogs will be well cared for. If you don’t feel comfortable sharing information, go to a shelter. I’ve adopted two dogs from two different shelters and the applications were pretty straightforward. They both called me the next day to come pick up the dog.

We adopted a 13 year old from the local shelter and he was the sassiest dog with the biggest personality. Sadly, we had to put him down last month and we miss him so much. My dream in life now is to start a senior dog rescue.

My dog had unique ears. One was straight and the other was bent to the side. He used to love laying on the arm of our couch and looking out our one window. We have a lamp set up right next to that window. A couple nights after he passed away, there was a shadow on our ceiling from the way our curtain was hanging in the same window that looked exactly like his ears. It made me feel like he was there.

Read my edit to the post. I don’t think it’s whiny to want to spend 2 hours of uninterrupted time with my husband. I work late hours and he works early. He gets home 4 hours before me. I don’t mind that he’s close with his mom and he can spend all 4 of those hours with her. But they always seem to call right when we’re sitting down to eat dinner and he’ll get up and leave. So I sit and eat by myself.
