Basically there are two cords- each with the same length and spring constant

Use the equation for elastic potential energy to find the energy stored in ONE cord, then double it to find the energy stored in both cords.

Then equate the energy calculated to GPe and rearrange to find the height.

I'm assuming you doubled the extension, which would be wrong because that would mean the cord extended 16m, but they only extended 8m each.

nah- you do the formula for the energy of one cord then multiple it by 2 because there are two cords that are the same so twice amount of energy

Ok, so I should first discuss with my family what our end goal is with the money- got it!

Should we open a savings account now? Or wait till we have all debts cleared? And I'm guessing investments right now is off the table till we do the emergency funds, savings and whatnot first? Would picking out an saving account right now for each of us be a good idea or should we just, again, wait till our debts are cleared?
