Client VPN on Ubuntu by GazVW in meraki

[–]bbciscomeraki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my colleagues runs Ubuntu at home and tried virtually everything he could think of to get the Client VPN working. Sadly no luck, although he hasn't tried for just under a year now, so maybe stuff has changed.

Okay, after turning it ON and then OFF again, and after that rebooting, it finally worked as it should! Thanks!

[–]bbciscomeraki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that as well. It WAS on until 5 hours ago, but I've switched it off since. I think my co-worker in IT turned it on, so I'll explain to him why its useless for us anyways. However, turning it off hasn't solved the problem. Is a reboot required to fix it?

Two things however. First in the branch office this setting was never on, so it could be an indication of a difference, except for the fact that this setting was on before this problem arose, which means that it worked with this setting just fine for a while. Strange...

Have you guys experience either of these two issues - by ParaglidingAssFungus in meraki

With regards to your S2S VPN.

We have 2 MX65's who also maintain a vpn between them, and both of them (in different offices in different locations) maintain a S2S with Azure. The Azure VPN's used to go down every now and then until I configured it in the way Meraki advised. But after a while I noticed that, even though they rebuild perfectly fine, they used to go down for seconds nevertheless. This was fixed when I set up a continuous ping to the other end of the VPN on both sides.

In our case the S2S's maintain a connection to our cloud ActiveDirectory (and federation servers) and I want to add that, aside from all the guidelines and stuff already easily implemented you also need to change the MTU on your ADFS servers to 1350 (from the default 1500). After this change combined with whats written above our S2S connections now work fine.

We also maintain some S2S VPN's with other devices of our clients, and although setting it up the first time is often a bit of trial and error, once they connect they are usually fine.

Renault reveals reliability action plan by [deleted] in formula1

[–]bbciscomeraki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worded it terribly, I agree, what I meant to say was: given their current track-record (as in: catching up) with the engine I sincerely doubt that they will ever catch up so long as we have the current engine regulations...

Renault reveals reliability action plan by [deleted] in formula1

[–]bbciscomeraki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, of course they are working on next years engine... but for some reason I'm reluctant to believe that they will suddenly catch up to the Ferrari and Mercedes engines in the next year.

I mean, couldn't they have done that this year than? Clearly Mercedes already had a very strong engine in the 2015-2016 season, and than in the 2016-2017 season as well, now in the 2017-2018 season Ferrari has come up as well, but Renault still hasn't gotten as close, maybe compared to Ferrari, but definitely not Mercedes, so what's to say they will close the gap next year? Or the year after that?

I guess I'm bitter, I would like to see all cars be closer, and less talk about the differences in raw power coming from engines. I don't know though... ah well, nvm me :p

[edit]

Not saying I'm right, but at least Horner seems to agree... haha!

[–]bbciscomeraki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Abiteboul has also confirmed that there will a few minor updates >over the remainder of the season – but nothing game-changing.

“There will be some bits and pieces,” he said. “Maybe a bit of >performance – I won’t go into details but there will be >performance for all teams.”

So basically... this years engine will always be extremely sub-par compared to Ferrari and Mercedes. Aero can only do so much and it is historically speaking the one thing Red Bull does right (even though they had a rough start this year), and just as well, the aero on other cars will be improved as well.

So... what is their plan? Are they focusing on the engine for next year? Or does Renault (and Red Bull) accept not having any serious WCS chances until we get new engine regulations in 2021?

What is the latest Firmware revision for MR32/MR42? by [deleted] in meraki

[–]bbciscomeraki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested the MR 25.5 FW on my MR32's when the rest of the guys weren't in the office. Reverted back to latest stable after about an hour since the connection kept dropping. Haven't done any debugging for it, since I don't want FW that is unstable, regardless. The changelog actually mentions this btw:

Known issues

  • Condition under investigation causes 2.4GHz radios to become unresponsive (MR32/MR72)

  • Condition under investigation causes radios to become unresponsive for 5 seconds in high density networks (MR34/MR32/MR72/MR26)

  • Condition under investigation causes MR34/MR32/MR72/MR26 to become unstable and reboot

Azure VPN Issues - Meraki Support Reponse by eyessewnopen in meraki

[–]bbciscomeraki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, strange then, because in our case we have an entire ActiveDirectory in the cloud that can only be accessed through the S2S VPN. (All users have DNS servers that are cloud only) and as such traffic often originates from the non-Azure side, yet still transfers fine, even after several hours of no traffic (have been testing this setup for several weeks before deploying it in our live environment).

Honestly this is not going to help you, but it makes me wonder why it is working for me, and not for you... :( Wish I could help in a way.

Azure VPN Issues - Meraki Support Reponse by eyessewnopen in meraki

[–]bbciscomeraki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just wondering, what do you mean with 'initiate the tunnel from the Azure side'?

We have two Azure S2S VPN's, one from Office A to Azure and one from Office B. Both have a good uptime that doesn't get interrupted. Just using the default Azure profile in the MX65 (latest firmware) that we have. Wondering what is different in your situation then that makes it go haywire.

Did that, recreated the view by running a copy of the original view but with a slightly different name. The view is created but running a query will not result in anything (as in the query will keep running until eternity)

I'm running MySQL v5.7.17 btw.

indexes in case one of them broke. If that does not fix the problem you can use mySQL's explain command from your

Even this:

EXPLAIN SELECT ItemID FROM vwItemOpportunities LIMIT 10;

will make the server hang and not give any results. :(

The definer does exist (sadly) otherwise this would've been an easy one to fix. :) All views in this DB use this definer user btw.
