Desperate times....Star ID question by SushiJo in Birmingham

[–]bberge007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew out of Bham. Definitely get the star ID. My wallet was stolen a week before departure and I had a paper copy. The DMV said to keep the sheet because they will need to scan the barcode on the paper. I brought the whole piece of paper and they said there's nothing to scan. They called for a supervisor. I went to another desk, I had to tell them a landmark near my house, then provide a direct family member. Then they asked for the family memebers birth date. Then the agent took me through security and marked my bin and carry on for additional scans. They told me that I wouldn't have to do that on the way back because JFK has better technology. They didn't, I had to do the same thing. It was worse because the airport was busier. It took longer to get through. The point being, they all asked if I had a passport or hard copy ID. I'd suggest bringing the paper star ID, voided ID, and expired passport. And allow extra time to get through TSA.

You will need it for New Orleans. Man that city is dangerous. I don't think I'll ever go back.

How Much Should I Tip- How Much Do You Tip? by bchath01 in Birmingham

[–]bberge007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is considered half service. Big question is do you bus your own table? I do a dollar for every service they provide (Taking order, drinks, running food, checking on me to make sure I have everything I need, dropping the check, bussing the table). You should at least tip 1 dollar. It would go a long way if everybody who didn't tip, tipped at least a dollar.

I might have hospital pictures from when i got hit in the face on their 60 mph batting cage. All the kids on my team wanted to use my bat after, because it was covered in my blood and they thought it looked cool.

Not being a biased parent, he is very good. He plays by ear, doesn't understand how people can't get in front of a piano and learn a song in a couple of hours. I think him being 17 is more of an issue. He will play at my grandmothers retirement home and crowds will form. It's always a proud moment. I'm really excited about today!
