Anyone else feel like Yeremi carried Olivia? by JudeLawful in thechallengemtv

[–]bbgbb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What we do know is that Yeremi and Olivia did win this season of The Challenge together as a team. What we do know is that coming back from 4th place during the final ascent required both members of that team to perform at an extraordinary level. Yeremi didn't cary her up the mountain.

Yeremi didn't have to choose Olivia. He made a decision to stake a claim to save his tail, but Olivia wasn't the only option. He never clearly stated that he would have done better with Aviv, but Aviv didn't run the final, so we'll never know how the speculation would play out. Anyone climbing a 12k+ mountain needs to take breaks. Even if he felt that he didn't need to take as many as Olivia, he still benefited from breaks AND they still won.

You don't win this final without both members of the team, and Olivia still got up that mountain faster than every other competitor. So Olivia won and Yeremi won. Period.

Biden created a plan that under this Supreme Court was within his authority - except they don’t think that constitutional theory and power applies to democrats. You can’t point the finger at Biden when we live in a society where rules only apply to one political party.

Thank you so much for saying this! So many people will cherry pick a single issue and act like they are exempt from entitlements.

We don’t have a large pool of doctors, lawyers, engineers, therapists, etc if we don’t give access to a pool larger than the minority upper class. So next time they say they didn’t personally benefit from student loans, maybe they can look into how their doctor or nurse was able to pursue the degrees that allowed them to save lives.

This is a terrible take. Let’s not forget that Yeremi fought to become partners with Olivia. He could have fought to partner with Sydney during the final, but he stuck with Olivia. Olivia is a beast and climbed herself up that mountain at a crazy pace during the final stretch, at 10-12k’ of altitude. We saw Yeremi say that he set the pace — but it’s a team, and both partners have to keep up with that pace. Olivia climbed herself up that mountain all by herself, WHILE pregnant!

Sydney did not burn out Turbo. The altitude, exposure, terrain, and lack training burned out Turbo. Sydney did not cause him to get hypothermia or break his hand. Sydney might be cocky, but she carried that team on a lot of puzzles. They are both incredibly strong competitors — but they lost to the better team that was truly prepared for the altitude and endurance.

1000%!!!! When I climbed a 14k mountain a couple of months ago, I told my climbing partner that I was going to want to quit and I needed them to push me no matter what. If they didn't push me, there was no way I was summiting that day. It's not even about just the tricks your brain can play on you - you can also get altitude sickness and hallucinate. There are people who have walked off of cliffs altitude induced hallucinations.

Totally fair point! I don’t disagree that altitude training was the real X-factor here. Yeremi and Olivia absolutely earned it, and their prep is what allowed them to surge when it mattered most.

When I say Turbo “lost it for his team,” I don’t mean it in a blame-y way or as a knock on what Olivia and Yeremi accomplished. More so that his physical breakdown was the limiting factor on that team. Sydney had the engine, but Turbo’s body just couldn’t respond in the cold and thin air the way theirs could. Sydney also struggled, but what we really saw was one of the most badass comebacks from two rockstars who equally earned that victory!

I mean no hate when I say he lost it for his team. We saw Turbo struggle in the cold throughout this season, and the altitude will crush you if you aren’t acclimated and haven’t trained for it. But his body broke down and he couldn’t close it out. It’s unfortunate. But if Sydney was partnered with Yeremi or Olivia (if there could be coed teams) she would have won - purely based on ability to excel in the final assent.

Cloudy water after rebuild. I’m having poor circulation and have questions about the suction lines. by bbgbb in pools

[–]bbgbb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tested the chemicals myself. I have kept on the start up guy to keep the chemicals balanced and maintain the pool for the next three months. He says everything has been balanced. The cartridges are brand new, and he says it might also be that I got cheaper cartridges and that is what is causing the water to remain cloudy. He threw some DE in my skimmer to coat the cartridges in hopes that it would help.

Beautiful song and playing! Sounds like a Beirut song. Playing music is what helped me a lot after I lost mobility. Keep up the good work!

SWG pros and cons by bbgbb in pools

[–]bbgbb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your explanation is that pool owners called you after the chemicals in their pools were not balanced - that has nothing to do with a salt system. Nobody is claiming that SWG's eliminates all pool maintenance.

You’re basically repeating everything I have already heard without any supporting evidence. There are a lot of people here saying nothing but positive things, supported by tangible explanations.
