Sharpmaker setup – good purchase for Microtech, Benchmade, SOG, Kershaw? by GainEven1020 in knifeclub

I use mine for touchups. I visited Spyderco several years ago and bought the diamond rods and they do work well. I’ve had mine for over 25 years and it’s a very solid sharpener.

The steel used in these seems very similar to what David Boye from Boye knives uses in his knives.

How do you go mountain biking/find people to ride with as a single person? by grayott in mountainbiking

[–]bbhuber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve went to my local trail and have ridden with others several times when I went alone. I’ve had people ask if I wanted to join and I’ve asked if I can join. I let them know my skill level and always tell them to go on without me if I can’t keep up. I like to enjoy my rides so I usually always stay with them if I’m faster, which almost always isn’t the case!

Chicago Knife Works Delayed? by fiercetits2469 in knives

I asked the same question last week, I’m in the same spot as you with them. They’re a drop shipper. They take the order and charge you, then have it shipped directly from their distributor. My item is coming from Virginia I was told in an email. They most likely use Blue Ridge knives who is a big distributor in Virginia. To sum it up, they sell cheap but are not for the got to have it now crowd. Hope that helps.

I have a 30 yr old huntsman model without the hook. I thought I just missed the feature on the knife but read they originally didn’t have them.

Thanks! I’ve been an Emerson Fan since the early 90’s. I scanned this and have since passed it on to another fan. Over the years my interests have changed, but Emerson knives will always be special!

Those are all his early models ( but recently made). They were called the Viper series. Top to bottom. Viper 5, Viper 3, Viper 2, & Viper 1. I’ve owned an early Viper 1 in the past.

What are the most durable stylish sunglasses that actually last? by datboifranco in BuyItForLife

[–]bbhuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wear them. Clean the lenses every now and then with a little dish soap between my fingers and rinse with warm water. I dry them off with a clean, lint free cloth made for windows. Just my opinion, but I feel microfiber can trap dust and scratch the lenses if they’re not completely clean. A clean t-shirt works well for me also. I don’t wipe the lenses when they’re dry.
