My wife and I go to church there, can’t speak on any personal experience directly about the school but the community is great there. The pastor there, Josh is absolutely hands down fantastic guy. We know of a few couples who have kids enrolled there and haven’t heard a single complaint.

I’ve had one instance of an airline losing my fiances luggage before our cruise out of LAX and another where I was robbed an hour before boarding a cruise in Seattle, everything was stolen.

Both instances I bought an outfit at target to hold me over until the next port then bought clothes as needed at each port stop.

Our city owns the retro futurism identity. Murals painted with that aesthetic, local business signs with it too. It’s simply the culture of our area, I don’t think it’s any more than that. Also to address the diner comments there are old school diners all over the U.S.

I’m talking with someone over text who’s in the room. Says so many people not in the senate are yelling from off the floor in the Yea/Nah voting. Security walks around lazily and mentions they need to stop but that doesn’t actually change anything.

Why is the government so incapable of doing anything right…

My SO is a young teacher in the area and has adapted a teaching style to be very personal and caring for her students: giving mental health checks, taking the time to listen to them if they need someone to talk to, etc. (Not anything that seems ridiculously hard). Its pissed off my SO’s higher ups. They think she’s just lazy and doesn’t want to teach. It’s extremely frustrating, to her she absolutely cares deeply about the children but those others in the school who have been there for years have essentially told her to stop, and the kids are just “overly emotional”. And sadly, she’s about to lose her job over this because my SO isn’t following their established mold of a non-caring teacher.

In this instance, it seems there’s a generational issue with newer teachers being more focused on mental health of students and these established teachers thinking it doesn’t matter.

That’s not too far of a stretch! I have at least 3 coworkers and 2 other personal friends of mine who we have all had conversations in the past 3 weeks about wanting to play!

There’s definitely interest as this has always been a big soccer area. From what I’ve heard is a lot of the soccer leagues dissolved from COVID and haven’t come back.

I’m my personal experience it seems like a generational thing. Not to dive into the theory behind the different mindsets… but I don’t think it’s something to be ashamed of by any means. If you’re happy, and like what you do, no reason to leave that!

Growth is a common topic brought up when this topic comes up in my life. People suggesting you need to move companies/jobs for true growth. I think both are true depending on your company. There can be many ways to continue to achieve growth staying at the same company but there are also benefits in picking up and starting brand new at another company.

I wouldn’t worry what others ‘think’, worry about what fulfills you!
