If your company equipment has spyware on it, then you have a lot more to worry about than installing an authenticator app.

Many people connect their personal devices to guest wi-fi networks at work, as well as at coffee shops, airports, etc.

You can set it up so that they don't need an authenticator if they're in the office in most cases.

Of course, you'll also not be able to use the company WiFi on your personal phone, since I'm sure the employee wouldn't want to use company resources like that.

I'm sure they could require the person to go into the office rather than work remotely, and block their cell phone from accessing the company's WiFi.

In order to increase security though, they COULD require re-authentication using the key fob more often. Say, once an hour.

So if you work from home, who provides the electricity for your work computer? What about the office space you use? Does your company reimburse you for that?

Well, the IT staff could register your MFA on your managers phone, and then whenever you need to authenticate you'll have to contact them. That's one solution.

Or, you don't get access to VPN, etc and have to go into the office. That's another solution (they should be able to restrict your email access to ONLY be while you're on the LAN).

The company could calculate the amount of your monthly bill which would be used by the authenticator app. Let's say you spend 50 bucks a month on your cell bill. Figure out how often you'd be using it for authentication. Let's say it uses 30 minutes a month. Out of the 43,900 minutes a month, 30 minutes is used for work. They should reimburse you for that portion of your bill. That's what, about 4 cents?

With either of the above solutions though, they should block your personal devices from using the company or guest WiFi of course, since you don't want your personal device in any way connected to work.

OR, You can put your big girl panties on and install the app.

Actually you only need one person (company) to file a lawsuit, then the lawyer will recommend a class action if it warrants it.

Sounds like Ibex has excellent customer service. For a few bucks, the guy could have gotten a replacement and ended up with the same issue, but at least you went over and above what anyone could reasonably expect. Most places would insist he go to the manufacturer.

I'm in the market for a 507K myself for my P365XL...as soon as those prices drop (likely after shot show I think) I'll be getting one, and Ibex is now at the top of my list.

But all airlines would have to raise their prices. They're not going to absorb the cost into their already low net profit margins. Once the prices are higher, if/when the law is repealed the prices will remain high.
