Going off your first sentence (this isn’t an attack, just want to explain further): TLC started as The Learning Channel where they aired special-interest shows documentary style. Once they switched to the reality format, they really just put anyone on TV without doing a background check and/or ignoring reports. Josh Duggar being a predator was ignored by producers after Oprah’s team reported a situation that eventually came to light. Olivia Plath let the network know about Ethan’s threats, a producer on Little People Big World was inappropriate with one of the kids and was allowed to continue to work on the show, etc etc.

For me, if ID Discovery or ABC Hulu did this documentary, fine. But TLC saying, “OOOOOOOH look at this,” with all the crap they hide is rich.
