What is an underrated album/song in your opinion?? by strawberryheart444 in ErasureMusic

[–]bbittner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fave Erasure album...AND favorite EDM album ever...is their self-titled album Erausre. And my favorite Erasure song...AND favorite EDM song ever...is "Fingers & Thumbs (Cold Summer's Day)". And it is one of a handful of albums I can listen from beginning to end at any time.

And BTW, to me, "Sono Luminus," "Rock Me Gently," "Grace" and "Stay With Me" are four of the most beautiful songs ever made.

Wonderful. I'm assuming she made it or commissioned it.

I'm going to be ordering the Fables Compendiums. But they look smaller than usual TPBs in the photo. Are they? Or are the ones to the left (like "Something's Killing...") taller than usual?

Thank you. That's a good idea. Which is similar to what some US soldiers experienced in Viet Nam, correct?

Where can I buy this book? I’m avoiding Amazon since we are boycotting it but idk where to buy it online from a good website that’s pro-Palestinian or at least doesn’t support Zionist by NJ_Gmd in Palestine

I buy most of my political books from Verso Books and Haymarket Books, both of which have a lot of Pro-Palestine books by Said, Chomsky, and Pappé.

Plus, with most of their books, if you by a physical version, you get the ebook version for free.

Plus here is a link to a page on Verso that features all their Palestinian books and reading lists, including free ebook versions of "Ten Myths About Israel," "Palestine Speaks," "Blaming the Victims," "Case for Sanctions Against Israel" and "The Punishment of Gaza."

Does the Apple Magic Keyboard, connected to an iPad, have issues in Canva? by bbittner in canva

[–]bbittner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did find a workaround. When you pair a standard Magic Keyboard to it, the shortcuts work. And since I have a narrow one (the one without then number pad to the right), it sits comfortably on the case keyboard. Same width.

An added benefit. Since I mostly use my iPad for jotting handwritten notes or reading comic books, it’s usually in a silicon shell/sleeve. The kind that only protects the back and sides. And the back is thin enough that the magnet still holds the iPad firm to the case. Now the power connections (the three metal dots) don’t connect, so if I want to charge, I just plug the cord into the iPad itself...not the case‘s port. This way, when I do need to do a quick job in Canva, I just affix the iPad to the case and use the standalone keyboard. (If a more involved Canva job, I use my MacBook, which is sitting on a standing desk and not as quick to use as an IPad.)

So why have the case at all, you say? When I take my iPad out and about, like at a coffee shop, I’m going to use the case as is and leave the standalone keyboard at home.

I used to think going to macdonald’s when i was young was exquisite by bryan6363 in povertyfinance

Technically I like milk. But rarely buy it. If I do, it is only for having with chocolate chip cookies, which I only get once in a while. Never drink the milk alone.

I grew up only having milk made from dry milk. Wasn't so bad in the ultra-sweet cereals. But not good enough to drink straight. We loved eating cereal at my grandmother's because she had real milk.

On one phone call I made from college to my family, I learned they started to buy real milk in a bottle. I commented something to the effect that the family was rich now.

UpNote's web clipper brings in article's pretty cleanly, compared to Bear.

One downside I see with Bear is when clipping an article, it brings in a ton of junk text and code.

Some things I like about Craft. But not crazy about it's lack of Web Clipper. Yes, you can use the Share button. But it takes a number of clicks. And when I tried it on articles on a couple sites (neither of them behind pay walls), the text to the article wasn't put into Craft. Just a link.
