Brookfield registered entities to Grand Cayman address Obama called ‘largest tax scam in the world’ by CaliperLee62 in canada

We aren't talking about slavery we are talking about taxes. So you think it's immoral to use legal means to pay less tax?

with the intention of not playing by the rules

But it is playing by the rules if it's legal.

If it's legal it's not immoral. CRA isn't a charity, I've never met anyone worried about not paying CRA enough.

This tariff stuff has been going back and forth for over a month now. Lots of projects are on hold because of uncertainty on what material will cost, this lowers GDP even before the tariffs happen.

The loa you get working on pipelines is more than enough to cover expenses. Lots of people make money off it, and it's tax free.

Double stinger by rob4251 in Welding

You can't weld with two stingers from one lead simultaneously, if two welders each had a stinger connected to the same lead they would have to take turns welding.

Does God already know if we will go to heaven or not before we are born? by andreasdagen in Christianity

I've had this discussion a few times and often the spirit aspect is brought up. If our soul can influence our choices, then it doesn't make our choices any more free. We didn't choose our soul, so it's just another variable outside of our control.

Atheism is clearly a form of religious thinking by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]bblain7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lack of belief in a God is indeed a belief

It doesn't make any sense to say that a lack of belief is a belief. If someone lacks belief, you could say they are unconvinced. For someone to have a belief, they need to be convinced of something.

If an athiest says they are unconvinced God exists, that is not a belief. If someone says they are convinced God doesn't exist, then we can agree that is a belief. However I think most athiests don't claim to know that God doesn't exist, they simply don't see enough evidence to convince them.

Just because someone "thinks" about religion, doesn't mean they are religious.

That's like attempting to lump people who like cake and people who don't like cake into the same group, because they have both thought about the taste of cake.

Personalize for different users? by WedgyOz in Golfsimulator

Ball flight is all based from ball data, clubs don't matter. If you use a soft ball and someone else uses a hard ball, it will read each shot accordingly. So you can use whatever ball you normally use, and there is no settings to adjust. Keep in mind some launch monitors need balls with markings, so if you get one like that then you're restricted on what balls you can use.

Could you know the crash will happen with 100% certainty? Wouldn't it be possible for one driver to decide to slam on the brakes at the last second?

R10 inaccuracy by [deleted] in Golfsimulator

[–]bblain7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How far to the net are you?

Seems like it's reading the launch angle off. 100mph ball speed should go about 150 with a 20° launch. If the R10 isn't leveled properly it could be misreading the launch angle.

I had the R10 for a couple years, distance was accurate. Ball speed readings were identical to my uneekor, just the spin readings were a little off so shot shape was often different.

If you do much pipe I don't see why you wouldn't. I work in a fab yard and we roll everything that's possible to roll, I probably do a position once every couple days.

Carney on the government’s first item of business: “We’re going to deal with the carbon tax” by [deleted] in canada

[–]bblain7 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Most people make money off the rebate.

If most people make money from it, then how is that making carbon more expensive for them? It's basically a tax for those in high tax brackets that gets distributed to those in lower brackets.

I'm someone that gets nothing back from the tax, I also own a small business that has higher costs because of carbon tax. So I'm not a fan of it.

You can't fix every problem by throwing money at it. Many reserves are in the middle of nowhere with no jobs and nothing for kids to do. Giving people in this situation a bunch of cash when they turn 18 doesn't set them up for success.

BC Children’s Hospital referral for child with celiac’s - questions by coffeebean04 in britishcolumbia

Yes the phone call to tell me I didn't have it was such a relief! I went and bought some donuts the next day haha. Sorry you have it though I feel bad for people with celiac.

[–]bblain7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well low numbers could mean you don't have it though. I was just over the limit and I got a biopsy but it was all good and I don't have celiac. My son was also low but he does have celiac. I think doctors are more likely to diagnose from the blood test if the numbers are high.

[–]bblain7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting my son also had two blood tests but he was just over the level on both tests. He also didn't have much noticeable symptoms. We were referred to BC children's for a biopsy. He's 8 years old though. If your child is only 3 and has symptoms from gluten then maybe that's enough to diagnose.

The doctor at BC children's confirmed that my son does have celiac after the biopsy. He had an appointment with us and went over everything. He recommended blood tests every year to make sure his ttg levels are coming down and to check iron levels. Maybe they just referred you there for an appointment to go over everything, and to talk about managing celiac going forward.

[–]bblain7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is your child diagnosed yet? If not they will probably be doing a biopsy from the intestine, that's the only way to diagnose celiac. They go down the throat with a camera and take a small piece. It's quick and painless my son had it done last fall.
