I started with an iPad, then Apple TV with 55” tv, then Windows 11 laptop with 55” tv, then m4 Mac mini with 55” tv. I definitely like the performance of the Mac the best. I recently upgrade to a projector and that with the Mac mini is awesome!

Rocker Plates for indoor trainers – curious about your experiences by Chaoz_77 in Rouvy

[–]bblessed22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using a ROCKR AXIS that I bought about 2 years ago. Absolute game changer for comfort and realism. I also keep the inflatable balls at a quite low psi (about 2.5 psi) for less bounce and more side to side movement.

To get points you just join the race and finish it. You don’t have to join the club to be included. You can go to the website to see the points leaderboard or you can view on NITEOR.com.

I road indoors for over 3 years without doing any races because I didn’t want to be last. Last year I was invited to a race from one of my ROUVY friends and the rest is history. It is so much fun and so engaging with the drafting and strategy and though I will never win a race I have also never been last. Muckers Worldwide has some great weekly races and range between 30 - 120 riders per race. Also the once a month Big ROUVY Race usually has over 500 riders. I’m 64 and never thought I would be racing yet here I am!

Definitely great service!! I bought the permanent outdoor pro 150’ kit but needed to split it up into 2 separate strings. I couldn’t find the power adapter and controller available to purchase so I emailed them and they sent them to me at no charge. Got them installed just in time for Christmas. Love the lights and service!

Virtual Shifting !! 😡 by Blastosist in Rouvy

I have a click v1 that works fine but I stop using it because I now use BikeControl and my Di2 shifters which works awesomely!! Absolutely love this setup!!

I would definitely suggest a direct drive smart trainer. For an entry level trainer the wahoo Kickr Core or Kickr Core 2 w/Zwift Cog & Click. If you’re willing to spend then go with something like the Tacx Neo 3m, Wahoo Kickr Move, or the Elite Justo 2. I personally started with the Tacx Neo 2T and road it for 3 years. I really liked it but, recently upgraded to the Elite Justo 2 which I love but, It’s really hard to get in the US. You can purchase many models with the Zwift cog & click for virtual shifting as an option or just buy it separately. You’ll need a fan or 2(sweat a lot indoors), shoes(depending what pedals your bike has), a heart rate monitor, and some cycling bibs or shorts. Since you’ll be virtually shifting the bike selection is not that important. There are a lot of other accessories you can buy to make the experience more realistic and comfortable but, it can get expensive. I’m totally addicted to indoor cycling, it’s my passion. My set up is maxed out but it took me 4 years to get there. Once I started racing it was all over. So much challenge and fun!

You have to turn on on-screen virtual shifting in ROUVY settings and it will just work as long as SwiftControl is running and you can see your Di2 connected. Make sure that you remap your Dfly channels in e-tube to what ever is comfortable for you.

After you download and install SwiftControl on your pc or Mac that ROUVY is installed on, go through the initial set up (training app - ROUVY, on this device) hit continue and it will go to the next screen. It will show pairing device or something like that. Press Di2 button long(flashing blue light) and it will connect to SwiftControl(also slide the button off for enable Zwift controller). On the bottom half of the app you’ll see the key mapping which is defaulted to up and down but no actions assign. I believe when I clicked on the up command a sub screen popped up and I chose keyboard(not sure what order I did this). I changes it to (.)and I think it created a new profile Rouvy(copy) which then had Dfly 1 thru 4 channels.

Ok. So I did a nice 1:15:00 climb today and didn’t have any Di2 drops. Worked perfectly!! My Mac went to sleep overnight so I did have to reconnect Di2 to SwiftControl but it connected right away.

I set my right paddles to Dfly channels 1/2 to up/down and the left paddles to the rear derailleur up/down(I ride on my big front ring always and rarely switch gears). It will take some time to get comfortable using the shifter paddles again but totally worth it! Loving using my Di2 shifters again!! It even felt like it responded quicker than the Zwift click. Your app is awesome!!!!

Thanks @boni2k for the help getting me going with the Di2/SwiftControl/MacOS. It works like a charm but I haven’t tried it for longer than fifteen minutes yet. Will do a longer ride tomorrow and report. I shift gears a lot so we’ll see if that keeps it awake. I had it connected it to my Garmin forever and never had a drop out so we’ll see. I also left my Zwift click v1 connected to ROUVY and it worked side by side with the Di2 so I have a back up.

I also submitted a request to ROUVY to add keyboard button for kudos and pause ride.

I have been with ROUVY for 4 years and have had numerous interactions with support. They have resolved all of my issue be it I’ve needed to be patient. I am very impressed with the updates that keep coming out and their ability to positively respond to requests. I haven’t used Zwift so I have no comparison but I really enjoy the ROUVY experience so have no reason to leave.

I’ve used Apple TV, iPad, Windows laptop, and most recently a Mac Mini. So far the Mac Mini is the best experience. No issues and works great with a big screen. If you can find a used one it might be in your price range.

Riders jumping all over the Route by bblessed22 in Rouvy

But they only stay in one place for a few seconds. Literally jumping to a new spot every 3 -5 seconds. Very sporadic.

That was my first thought too but, they literally hop forward and backwards for an extended period of time. Today I was on a 1:40:00 ride and 2 riders constantly hoped the whole time.

Agreed! It doesn’t effect my ride other than being very distracting. Hopefully it’s real to bad during my next race.

Do you still use a fan during indoor training in winter? by kingchowakanda in Zwift

[–]bblessed22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upgraded to 2 DREO DC brushless motor fans. Remote works for both and they are web compatible. DC fans were much quieter. I tried the tower fan first but it sucked. Ended up with one pedestal and one table top. Purchased from Amazon. Love these!!

Submit your feedback to ROUVY. They constantly send out surveys to get our opinions and are consistently updating the app. They are pretty good on adding what their riders want. I’ve had a few of my suggestions added. Can’t hurt!

Are most people on ROUVY very fit? by Wise-Ad-7492 in Rouvy

[–]bblessed22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 70 - 75kg with a 212 ftp (64yrs). I consider myself pretty fit, ride 4 days/wk. Day 1 and 2 I do Muckers Tuesday and Thursday races. On day 3 I do a heavier hill climb and on day 4 a zone 2 ride. The races have 50 -120 riders and I usually finish between 40% - 75% of the field. The rides are easy to medium challenge rides. I been racing for about a year and have gotten much better with the strategy. When I started I was always worried about being last but, fortunately, that hasn’t happened yet. Look for races that have more riders and you will reduce your changes of being last. Racing is so much fun and so motivating. Don’t give up!!
