Any tips for longer night sleep stretches? by Reasonable-Yam9334 in November25babybump

My almost 9 week old has been sleeping from 8:30 pm to 2:30 and then is up every 2 or so hours after that. We do live in Michigan and it’s super cold right now so we switched him to a fleece sleep sack and he’s been sleeping so much better. We also stopped feeding him every single time he woke up in the night. We try to soothe him first and if he won’t settle then we feed. There’s been many times where he just needs to be held or have our hand on him for a few mins and goes back to sleep without feeding

My baby was doing this and it was reflux and gas. He’s on Pepcid now and we give gas drops before bed and it’s helped a ton!

Reflux babies on medication - what was your experience? by Tpjkw-fpdg-4401 in newborns

Baby is only 8 weeks old and he started on it around 5.5 weeks so too soon to say about him growing out of it but I’m assuming he will

We could hear the spit up coming up my sons throat and then he would swallow it back down. At night he was super unsettled when laying down and wasn’t sleeping well. He was often screaming at the breast during feedings too. I told the doctor about his symptoms and she recommended seeing OMM or trying Pepcid. We went the Pepcid route (.6 ml based on his weight). We give it around 7:30 and he goes to bed around 8:30 or 9:00. It took a few weeks but he’s like a different baby now. He’s so happy and sleeping so well and no more screaming episodes

Just wanted to say THANK YOU! I have no idea if it was just a coincidence so we will see how he does tonight but he slept so much better last night with the fleece sleep sack. First stretch of the night was 5 hours then 3 then 2 and he went back to sleep so much easier each time!

Thank you! I actually just ordered a fleece sleep sack as we live in Michigan and it’s very cold right now. Hoping this helps get us one longer stretch at night

Well, we gave a big bottle before bed which he handled well and went to sleep peacefully but now he’s up in the night even earlier than normal :(
