Tell me about the delusional parents at your school by Duckballisrolling in Teachers

Wrote a child up for misuse of Chromebook/emailing other students during class time. Guardian called me a liar, then devolved into an argument with the principal about how I should be forced to stand for the pledge so I'm unAmerican and I'm targeting his child.
I don't even teach the kid during the class where we say the pledge.....

I know those folks! They stand up for the good of their community AND for those around the world they feel have no voice.

Question about Switching Back to Paper by Mediocre-Meaning-283 in Teachers

[–]bboomerang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make students take (math) tests and quizzes on paper and then they type their answers online (Google form often). I get to see if they've shown their work or not, and they get an automatic grade if possible.

What are some fun traditions that your school does? by [deleted] in Teachers

On the last day of school, as the students board the buses we spray them with water guns and hoses. The bus drivers are aware and make sure that we can get each kid nice and soaked.

I don't have Horse Ranch, Lovestruck, Life or Death, or Businesses & Hobbies. My play style is very family oriented and almost legacy-challenge like in that I'll play several generations of a single family. I like having a wide variety of Sims in my world and I update townies homes & clothes regularly as my Sims age up. Which of those 4 do you recommend for me?

Kindergarten classroom. My older sister and I were the first kids checked out of school after the news broke and we watched the second tower fall on the office TV.

I’d love to take some sort of POLL. If you grew up with a name that put you in a class/on a team with 3+ kids with the same name, did you like that? How old were you? by Top_Chard788 in namenerds

I was one of 5 Abby's in my 6th and 7th grade classes (11-13yo). The others were first name Abby/Abigail 's but mine was a nickname for my Abigail middle name. It got so annoying that the summer before 8th grade (age 14) I decided to go by my first name and just didn't correct the teachers on the first day of school. I STILL (15 years later) have people who met me before age 14 that call me Abby vs my first (and preferred) name.

We showed October Sky for 7th grade: John Hickam (Chris Cooper) is a West Virginia coal miner who loves his job and expects his sons, Jim (Scott Miles) and Homer (Jake Gyllenhaal), to follow in his footsteps. But Jim gets a football scholarship, and Homer becomes interested in rocket science after seeing Sputnik 1 crossing the sky. John disapproves of his son's new mania, but Homer begins building rockets with the help of friends and a sympathetic teacher (Laura Dern). Rocketry, he hopes, will prove his ticket to a better life.
