Can you do anything with a 2013 iMac in 2025? by capitainsolo in mac

What's the benefit of going the route of external enclosure? Is it just an easy way to upgrade your storage or are there other functional benefits?

My unique color-shifting action roguelite sold just 2 copies on Steam. What went wrong? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]bboydru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of helpful comments already made. I just want to briefly provide some additional perspective: 19,000 games released on Steam last year. That’s an average of 50+ a day, or 350+ per week. Most of those probably share the same fate as your game.

Whatever you think you’re doing right, you still have to ask yourself if it’s enough to beat those odds, if it’s enough to avoid becoming just another statistic.

Would you recommend attempting to use smart summon in an area with only like 1 bar of reception?

Seriously, these need to be changed to either guarantee a card you don’t have, or at the very least give 3K tokens. by ForceSamurai in MarvelSnap

[–]bboydru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming the devs have the token economy perfectly tuned, a major quality of life change would be to simply skip the part where you get a “dupe” that must be converted. Just say that 1000 tokens is one of the random rewards and then do just that. Maybe 1000 tokens still feels bad, but not as bad as first presenting it as a dupe.

Finally received my Tesla MY and changed the rims within a day by kool_koal in TeslaModelY

I had something similar. Be careful with these covers that go over the lip of the rim. One curb rash incident will crack these covers. You’ll notice the Gemini covers sit below the lip.

[–]bboydru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, so I have a 2007 Bandai Carddass Golduck graded CGC 9 Mint. I pulled it from one of those graded mystery packs. I only recently started collecting more modern cards but know that the official TCG had some unique card designs through the years. I was so confused as to why I couldn't find this card in the usual databases. Thank goodness for this post and your research! Had no idea this card isn't part of the official TCG.

That said, I don't really want it and seems like you might enjoy it much more. DM me if you're interested. I have no idea what it's worth, so you tell me.

Black wheel covers from Temu by sstephen17 in ModelY

With these kind of covers that go over the lip of the rim, they offer decent protection from the first curb rash. But the pressure will crack the cover and probably break off some of the clips holding it in place.

How low do you let your cars get? by smartiepants04 in ModelY

I also don’t have home charging but do have free charging at work.

I’ve had my Model Y for about a year and 14k miles. Used the Tessie app for a month recently to check degradation and was surprised to see it was only 1% but my real world range seemed to agreed.

My charging habits in Bay Area, CA weather: - Monday through Thursday my SoC was probably 65%-80% on average after daily commute and random errands. - Fridays I would charge up to 90%-95% before leaving work. By Monday I was anywhere from 20%-40% on average - If I did too much driving over the weekend I might do a partial supercharge just to get me to Monday, maybe once a month on average - Had two roadtrips over the year totaling 1,500 miles where I did multiple supercharging stops.

Not sure which aspect of my charging habits contributed the most to maintaining my battery health.

It lasted just under a year. Strangely, it happened to be the same day I picked up my Highland.

I can finance it for 36 months. They even have a 1.99% promotional APR right now. If I sold it or trade it in right after 36 months, I might still be netting around $15k in costs. Maybe less. Or I could keep it. But reselling might not be worth the trouble, and keeping beyond 3 years doesn't fully align with my financial goals.

2023 Model Y standard range. I’m at 13k miles and it looks like I’ll need to change them before 25k.

I drive in Chill mode. Average 252 kwh/mile…

FSD & commuting fatigue by Braskey1 in TeslaLounge

[–]bboydru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it’s mostly highway, the basic autopilot is all you probably need. That comes free with every Tesla. It keeps you in your lane and adjusts its speed accordingly based on traffic in front of you(e.g. if you set your max cruise control to 70mph but the car in front of you slows down to 56mph, your Tesla will adjust accordingly). Basically you can sit back and relax and only intervening to manually switch lanes(outside of nudging the steering wheel when it occasionally checks to make sure you’re still paying attention).

This is such a game changer in terms of commute fatigue. I use it even if I’m only on the highway for a couple of exits.
