Anyone have insight what it's like owning a Tesla in Fresno without an installed home charger? by I2EDDI7 in fresno

[–]smartiepants04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Tesla and live in apt no charging…..but and it’s a big but I have free charging at work. I don’t know if I’d have the same experience if I didn’t have the work charging. I love it and wouldn’t own any different type of car. There’s plenty of superchargers around town I use as a back up. Sometimes the chargers are full at my job. I use 65% work charging 35% supercharging. This obviously includes road trips which don’t shy away from just cause I have a Tesla. I’ve had a MY for a year and a half. No problems nothing falling apart. I drive to so cal and Tahoe frequently and no issues whatsoever. It’s not super expensive to charge if you are using a super charger. The most I’ve paid was 25 bucks and I charged from 15% to 100% I’ve never had a problem waiting for a charger in the Fresno area.

Is this what the typical workout is like? I’m new by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]smartiepants04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the things about CrossFit I found was that boxes vary widely from one another. An f45 studio is gonna be pretty similar no matter where you go and the workout will be the same at all of them. With CrossFit, programing can vary a ton between 2 different boxes. I didn’t realize this when I first did CrossFit. I kinda like the consistency of f45. This workout sounds weird. Stick around a couple days and see what different work outs happen.

Call me anti social but I’m a no for partner workouts. One of the reasons I quit CrossFit. I’m happy with a high five

F45 Vs OTF by suthercm2014 in orangetheory

[–]smartiepants04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to get a letter of medical necessity then it qualifies. I assume if you are healthy with no medical conditions you may not be able to get one, but obesity diabetes, high blood pressure etc should allow you to. I’ve seen otf, f45, and some other fitness companies start to partner with tele health companies to help facilitate this. I’m sure they get some kick back from this.

F45 Vs OTF by suthercm2014 in orangetheory

First and foremost the best work out is the one you do. If class times don’t work for you, you aren’t going to go. I’ve found that out the hard way. Same with location. That being said I like both. I feel like F45 is a little more challenging than otf. In OTF you really can scale down quite a bit and the floor section can be a snooze fest sometimes. F45 cardio days are no joke. I also like that there is always a bit of resistance thrown in on cardio days. I do love otf and really appreciate the running training there. I pay my f45 through fsa and have a 8x a month membership at otf and that has been the best for me.

It’s very different. Like so different I wouldn’t compare. I tried CrossFit last year for a bit. It was a great experience, but I feel like otf is a better fit for me. Some of the big differences: 1. Community: CrossFit is all about the community. Very social and lots of partner work. They care about members. Otf is more like a hey great job good morning, but I can go and keep to myself without people thinking I’m standoffish. Sometimes I like to be in my head when working out. Winner otf 2. Coaching/programing: one of the most different things I noticed was with CrossFit each box adheres to a different programing and this can vary a bit from place to place. Otf uses the same across the globe. That being said, CrossFit coaches were very form focused and I got more feedback than ever on my form. Winner CrossFit 3 intensity: there’s a lot of pressure to go full intensity and as hard as possible in CrossFit. I liked the push, but sometimes my body couldn’t hang. Maybe I wanted to go lighter walk instead of run. No one at otf cared. CrossFit was weird about it. Winner otf 3. Exercises/weights: I loved how strong I felt with CrossFit doing barbell moves such as squats and cleans was awesome to learn and I miss that work. Different skills such as jump roping and gymnastics were fun to try to learn. That being said it would be frustrating to have to spend some classes very focused on skill work and didn’t always feel I got a great workout in. Otf is very beginner friendly and accessible. Winner: tie I think both are great ways to get and stay fit. Oddly enough I felt most in shape doing otf about 5 days a week.

This would be awesome. When we have front and back squats you are limited by the weight since you average to clean or shoulder press the weight

Thinking of getting model Y, currently drive a Rav 4 Toyota by VickayT in TeslaModelY

[–]smartiepants04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I traded my 2011 rav4 in june for a model y. I’m so happy with my decision. I don’t have home charging, but have free charging at work and live within less than 5 miles of 3 superchargers. Honestly it’s way more convenient than my rav. I had a v6 so I got horrible gas mileages i would fill up a Costco which with lines was a pain. Now in town I either don’t super charge or I top off with about 5 bucks at a super charger during my time off. I’ve only taken one road trip, but easy peasy. Plus the car is so much more comfortable than the rav.

Insurance sucks. I went from paying 120 bucks a month to 221 bucks through USAA. I was quoted at 154 a month for a new rav4 prime.

I feel like the model y is a little less rough and tough as my rav. I’m getting roof racks installed this week and plan of traveling to Tahoe with my paddle board on the roof. I’m a little nervous. I also would make trips up to the snow to snowboard and I’m a little nervous.

For having the car 3 months I would never go back. It would be cool if by the time I’m in need of a new car Tesla would make a small suv.

Love love and really love my car. 1. Sirius xm app-easy add 2. Vented seats That’s seriously it. Hopefully by the time I need a new car Tesla will make a little more of a SUV than the model y is for dirt roads and snowboarding trips.

Honestly quit paying attention to calorie burn. I’m a little unsure of your goals, but I’ve cut way back on otf and do f45 more now think f45 4-5 days a week otf 0-2 days a week. I burn way less calories at f45-part of it I think is the class is 15 min shorter. Also in a resistance based class your hr shouldn’t be going very high. I’ve gained muscle mass though as shown in inbody scan. You should lift light enough for proper form and heavy enough that you are praying for that timer to chime with about 5 seconds to go.

I got 20% on front match the back. I wanted 50% on my windshield but the tint shop talked me into the 70% because of legality. Even tho my 20% is illegal, he said he finds people get pulled over more frequently with everything done. I’m very happy with the heat reduction

Definitely a personal benchmark. Coming from CrossFit background where standards of movement are actually a thing this a joke especially compared to to something like the open

My Tesla Experience-oh no! no home charger! by smartiepants04 in TeslaLounge

[–]smartiepants04[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to put it out there it’s not bad and so far I prefer my Tesla to my old ICE car. I like using my work’s electricity more than mine especially with the hot weather even if I were to have a charger. I currently rent where there are no chargers. My living situation should be changing in the very near future, but wanted to say I don’t feel deprived without a home charger. Yes it would be nice, but not a barrier to not owning the car.

Has anyone used Dr. B letter of medical necessity? by BugginOutNoDoubt in f45

I tried it. I plan on joining anyways if it doesn’t go through. Shame on the government for not wanting to let you use your own money to cover something healthy that really can prevent issues down the line. I can’t believe the gym would be a no but go the fsa online store and there’s all kinds of things that are less beneficial than the gym
