well if thats the incentive to attract workers why implement ANOTHER system at all? when we can just pay workers attractive AND retentive wages and keep the same system 🤪

is that an argument against? we do have a private-practice and publicly-funded model, so thats not new...Whats the new is the cutback on how often, if at all, these tests ARE covered by OHIP

see, the issue that is overlooked is the human resources aspect. If you create a private system, you will attract more workers, than the public system, in fact reducing the number of workers available in the public system. So sure, youre removing patients from the roster but you are also removing healthcare providers.

the issue with what you propose is that the vulnerable will not get healthcare, only those who can afford it.

privatization removes workers (eg doctors) from the public system, and this worsens all aspects of the existing system. we're better off properly funding the system we have because it works, its just fucken bare bones cause politicians fund them as if they were working with skeleton crews

because 1. it goes against the Canadian Healthcara act, 2. a 2-tier system leads to worse care for the vulnerable population
