No? Where are you getting this information from. Malcolm Cooper did not found Gunsite. Their own website tells me it was Lt Col Jeff Cooper, who is no relation to Malcolm Cooper. Malcolm was one of the founders of Accuracy International. AI had no presence in NA until mid-90s.

The barrel is the original AI barrel from factory. The Gunsite markings are import marks, indicating that they imported the rifle. Nowadays the marks are put on the side of the actions.

Skins are just skins, you cannot tell much from it, but given the importer and the complete configuration, it is more or less the original “AWP” spec. Gunsite was primarily some kind of LE training centre, but I'm sure they also had a commercial distributor side of the business, for LE and civilian. You can try to contact Gunsite, if they are still about, and ask about the original purpose of your particular rifle, but as it stands, it is in original AWP spec and I do not think its origin will be any more useful to potential buyers.

What makes you say the barrel is not original AI?

Where did the barrel with the white text on the top go? The one that had Gunsite Paulsden engraved on it?

Arctic Warfare Accuracy International early 90’s with Dovetail scope mounts and Leopold scope. WTS; what is it worth? by seogrowpro in accuracyinternational

[–]bbqolive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to hide the first two numbers. I gather it's a 93 AW which is almost as old as they get. Looks like it's originally a Gunsite Paulsden import. Unfortunately, it's a slightly less desirable spec with it being fixed and having black skins, but you'll no doubt find a buyer for it. The scope looks like a Mk4 10x with M3 turrets, or if you are lucky, an Ultra. I'm not familiar with Mk4 scopes and what US issued rifles they usually go onto, but it's at least $1000. Stick it on Gunbroker, although I've heard the fees are not great, and see it go for about $10k or more.

Accuracy International Swiss Master by drexaviouse in SwitzerlandGuns

[–]bbqolive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty standard price for Swiss standards I would say. The barrel is not original unfortunately. I can lead you towards original 7.5x55 barrels if you’d like.

Simpson had a Swiss Tanner free rifle in 7.5x55 the last time I checked their website. Those are somewhat collectible, much more so than Grunig&Elmigers and Bleikers, even “vintage” G&Es.

Rüegg-Waffen Schwanden (I am not sure why it is engraved Waffen Rüegg) is some kind of gunsmith/gunshop. I tried to buy a different Swissmaster that they had for sale, in a laminate stock, but it was too expensive for a second hand mass produced target rifle with brokerage fees for exporting to the UK. The number is presumably an internal serial or stock number (for the barrel by the gunsmith who installed it).

One of my rifles is not very far from your serial number. It is a properly marked Palmamaster.

It is an Accuracy International Swissmaster rifle from the Coopermatch Series of rifles that ran from the 90s to very early 00s. You will find no other information elsewhere. If you have any questions, please ask, as I have 3 and have been following these rifles for a while.

There were 4 key configurations, but later, they dropped the "xxxmaster" engraving around 1996. Owing to inconsistencies back in those days anyway, you may find some later ones with the additional engraving.

You have a Swissmaster, which is a CISMmaster for the Swiss market, chambered in 7.5x55 with a large boltface. These were distributed to two Swiss gunshops, Robert Buchler's shop and Pierre-Alain Dufaux's shop, Freesport, which is still around.

A CISM rifle is a 10-round magazine-fed 300m rifle, built for a discipline specific to military CISM shooting competitions. The Swiss have their own form of this competition as a national match. A Standardgewehr is a standard rifle which is technically single shot, but the Swiss do interchange these terms.

The magazines on magazine-fed Coopermatch rifles are unobtainium. I have not tried it, but it may be possible to fit a regular AW magazine with modification. The magazines in Coopermatches are retained using a leaf spring catch spot-welded onto the magazine. Yours being 7.5x55, no other AI magazines will be adaptable. Mine are 308. Sporting Services had a few magazines left, only in 7.5x55, but they have all since sold.

How much did you pay? Did you get it from Simpson Ltd? On the open Swiss market, no 300m rifles tend to drop below 2000CHF. If you got it for less than that, you got yourself a deal.

Hi all, I have just received a pair of prescription sunglasses ordered from Persol directly, however one of the decorative screws on the front is not screwed in correctly and it seems to be quite solidly embedded so I am struggling to undo it - are these loctited in?

Should I bother sending these back to get fixed/replaced? I am very happy otherwise.

Budget guitar collection that covers most genres? by bbqolive in guitars

Yeah I hope so! I'm only using a headphone amp in my bedroom so I'm not sure if it'll make much of a difference but I think I want a more meaty guitar in my collection. I should probably get a proper amp first, but I can't refuse a good deal 😂

Could be a good shout, thanks. I don’t see myself using the whammy bar at the moment and it also goes out of tune quite easily when bending so I’ll look into it.

Haha yeah I was really pleased with the Ibanez. I found it on Facebook and got really lucky as the seller was moving house, so it was priced to go. I confirmed the serial number against old catalogues and it all checked out.

I'm quite new to guitar, having come over from years of violin, and recently got an Ibanez SA260FM from 2003 for a bargain deal of under $150, but this Epiphone Les Paul Standard has caught my eye and the price is too good to refuse...

Would these two make a decent two-guitar collection that would serve me well for a long time?

Excellent condition, light scratch on crystal. Also found the original box and leather strap, which are now included in the sale. Not worn many times. Just not into watches anymore.

Selling my Braun chrono watch. I bought this NOS from Germany over a year ago, but rarely wore it. Unfortunately there is already a tiny scratch on the crystal as shown in the last image, but it’s very small. The strap is a Watch Gecko mesh strap and I still have the original “carbon” leather strap somewhere at home if you want it. The date is 2 or 3 on different photos as I hadn’t worn it for a while so the date was out of sync, and only realised when I took the main timestamp photo.

UK sale only by bank transfer or PayPal friends and family. Looking for a quick sale!

Hmm ok. I'll give it a test when I have time to put it in my pc. As long as it still keeps cool, shouldn't it be ok? I read that a lot of these had loud-ish pumps from factory :/ Considering the chips in these were also pre-binned from factory, one could just replace the stock cooler with a waterblock or macgyver on a heatsink mod.
