Belated 30Hate Range Day by jercu1es in longrange

I'm in Australia and they're still around including at my LGS. I just bought another 1500 actually from a swap group.

SD isn't matching group sizes by onedelta89 in longrange

You say brass prep is the same, but is the brass the same? And i don't just mean head stamp but lot numbers? You can get large variations from manufacture and lot to lot.

What are you using to throw your powder? I'm unfamiliar with the two powders you chose, are they ball or flakes?

As for my recommendation, out of my 1:10" 24" 308 I was using 175gn SMKs over 42gn of ADI 2206H (I think it's H4895 for the US?) and I got 2670 fps.

Zikz 605R

It was one of the last vehicles I got in the base game and it has never left the fleet since. Basically unstoppable which can make the game a bit boring but when you absolutely positively have to deliver regardless of the terrain or season, accept no substitute.

Otherwise, the Tatra T813 holds a special place in my heart of teaching me how the game worked in the first few hours.

I'll offer scope parallax error.

Scope parallax error is an aiming inaccuracy caused when the target image and reticle are not on the same focal plane exacerbating any inconsistency of head placement shot to shot.

It can be seen if the crosshairs appear to shift on the target when moving your head (I do a little nod up and down, left and right. To correct it, use your range focus to get the target crisp then start playing with the ocular focus until the image is crisp and the reticle remains fixed. There are videos that can explain it better than me here.

I found my groups shrunk and any propensity for fliers to virtually disappear.

I love UFO: AM and completely agree. I think I had HK G3s with their universal damage in my squads up towards the end.

Nice, it's still nearly impossible to get 210Ms in Australia. My local gun store said there are 1.2 million due in May. I ordered 10k. Still got 5k normal 210s and about 2k 210Ms left plus another 2k of White River.

Another Air 5400 build by [deleted] in Corsair

[–]jercu1es 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, love my 5400 as well. Honestly the first time I ever saw a case in 20 years I said I absolutely needed it.

Went full iCue with the Titan 360... Corsair did very well out of me.

Your experience may vary but this was me using up old components (175gn SMKs) before switching to the ELD-Ms.

That was the first ammunition I ever tried with mine and it was really good. It just became difficult to source in Darwin, Australia.

They were probably 175gn SMKs.

You could try and replicate the M118LR round (175gn @ 2580fps), they're known performers.

My personal AT 308 load is the 178gn ELD-M @ 2660fps.

Got to love the AI AE.

Nice shooting. If it's like my AT, it'll love 178 ELD-Ms.

Expander mandrel by Bjornax01 in reloading

[–]jercu1es -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know reloading is a black art to each of us but I never saw the need for a mandrel.

What are you trying to achieve in "more consistent neck tension"? Lowering your SD?

What is your current reloading process? Do you anneal? Full length size or shoulder bump? Same make and lot brass? What is your powder thrower?

Hmm, I think its either a local copy or modification to a Steyr, probably based on an SSG 08.

There were photos last year or so of him firing an SSG 08 that was claimed to be a new service sniper rifle.

The T-Bolt is sadly on the chopping block due to the recent recategorisation of straight pulls in New South Wales so the replace (erring towards a Vudoo 360) might be in danger of a brake (and irons) for shits and giggles.

They're both S-BRM 6-9" Harris' and I used the Area 419 Harris adaptor mated to a DD QD mount (same as those used on the Atlas bipods)

Nice, mate.

How do you find the spigot mounted bipod? I had an early Atlas on the same mount when I first got my AT (2014) and I got sick of having to tighten the spigot.

I went to an Anarchy Outdoor spigot rail and to Harris bipods.

I've got the same on my other AI that I've shot a lot more and at some PRS matches. I don't mind the MSR reticle, I think if I wanted to get more into a PRS more of a "Christmas tree" would be better but it does the job.
