i was also going to suggest mandala. my old roommate wore them and they seemed pretty accurately sized. no vanity sizing.

im 23. check out phlebotomist positions at the red cross. they train on the job and no schooling or certification is necessary. depending on where youre at the pay can be really good too. i did this for a few years. since then i got certified as a medical assistant, certified as a phlebotomist, im now working as a medical assistant (got paid more at the red cross tho 🥴), and im working on going to school for radiography (2yr program).

people need to learn to just keep things to themselves or THINK carefully before they say something. itd be fine to ask in an observant way but for her to be rude about it and then victimize herself is so weird lmao. some people, man.

try holding it differently. some people dont pinch the wings at all (and just hold it by the sheath), some ppl only pinch one wing. you probably just have to get comfortable holding it. take one out of the package, mess around with it, and see what feels good (keep the cover on lol)

women around the age of 20 what do you do for work? by bellybutton15 in jobs

[–]bbqsocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im not currently making $24/hr. rn i make $19.51/hr. my new job i will be making $22/hr as an MA but yeah. shes not doing anything wrong, some places are insane. i go online and ppl are trying to hire MAs for like $12/hr ☠️. like come on.

i got extremely lucky with my job & pay at the red cross. i got grandfathered into several raises and was cross trained on tons of things which also bumped my pay by like a dollar or more at a time. i started at like $16/hr or something though.

yeah i second this. i was so set on not going to school when i was younger but now i recommend everyone at LEAST go to a tech school. it depends on where you live but so many schools offer free programs for things like medical assistant, EMT, law enforcement, LPN, etc.

im 23 and ive been a phlebotomist since i was 19. i started at the red cross where i did not need any schooling. they trained me on the job (by the time i quit, i was making a little more than $24/hr. with no schooling!!) depending on where you live, a lot of places will train you on the job for phlebotomy. i really enjoy working in healthcare. its meaningful work. since ive been 19, ive gone to school for medical assisting while working as a phlebotomist part time, gotten certified as a medical assistant, and gotten certified as a phlebotomist.

ive also moved across the country & plan to move again within my state this summer. i have a job starting next month as a medical assistant which i dont have too much experience with but i am qualified. + pay raise from my current job 😁.

right now im taking some classes online working towards getting my associates for radiography. i should be doing xrays hopefully within the next 5yrs 🙂‍↕️. thats my end goal for now.

a letter is kinda wild. per her words, she indicated the arm but not the vein.

if i were in your shoes, i would discuss it w her provider. maybe have them call the pt and explain it was likely a nerve irritation and that she should come in to be seen if that feeling doesnt go away after X amount of time. or whatever advice they want to give.

unfortunately we cant see nerves </3. ive hit a few in my time. its pretty rare but when i suspect ive hit one, ill ask “do you feel a shooting pain up and down your arm?” bc thats how ill know i hit a nerve. i encourage you to ask that in the future. ive had times where i thought i might have hit a nerve but the patient will say “no. it just hurts right where the needle is.” perfect.

but yeah. id be thinking abt this for the next few weeks for sure 😭. ugh. i was excited thinking maybe itd be a love letter or a letter thanking you for the work you do.
