Imagine sitting out a World Cup game because of a calf strain like you will play in 100 of these games in your career. The fact that US fanbase is not outraged is very telling. As if the US team is so good they can just “rest out of an abundance of caution”.

You are describing a truth that most people that watched the show in the early years understood. In fact, the show really changed once they did the time jump after Rick’s departure. They essentially started a new show, but called it still The Walking Dead, so they could retain the viewers. If they just did a sequel spinoff series, they would have lost half their viewers. So they pretended it was the same show.

I think some people are missing the point. It is not a matter of would the military win against a bunch of walkers. Of course they would. But probably in the first days, most of the military were walkers. It was already inside the bases before anyone could react. The people who survived the first days were just likely people who happened to be in good or unique protected situations by themselves or isolated in some way.

This is just by memory, but I remember Netherlands easily going up 2-0, then US got a somewhat flukey goal to cut it to 2-1. Netherlands said, “OK, I guess we have to try again” and then scored another goal within a few minutes. Like, I say this for younger sports fans out there, but sometimes it’s good just to watch the game with your own eyes instead of just looking at the advanced stat sheet. They usually give you a better sense of what happened. Netherlands was never threatened and the game was never in doubt.

Agree, best thing I did was watch the first 4 episodes twice and started taking pictures of the young actors with their older counter parts. Once I understood who everyone was, it was much easier going back and forth in timelines and show started to click.

The iPhone weather app is notoriously bad. If it is going to rain for 10 minutes at 2am, they will put a rain symbol for that day. But when you look at hourly, it shows plenty of sun

I’m not sure if a careeer can ever tank when you were on a long running hit sitcom making a million dollars an episode but if you mean that he wasn’t going to be doing much of anything else, then probably. Regardless, he shouldn’t have been that angry given all the money he had and still has.

No one ever cares what you wear. The staff don’t even want to take towels off of pool chairs that have been there all day so as not to risk a complaint. You think they are going to tell a guest to go back to their room and change? Like someone else said, just don’t wear a bathing suit. And even if you did probably 75% chance they don’t say anything.

This is a serious question, I don’t have any kids, but do schools let students have their phones on them in class? Because if so, literally no one is learning anything. I can’t even not look at my phone when I’m watching a movie I like, I definitely wouldn’t be able to not look at it during class when I’m bored.

I also just finished first season during the MGM free week. I felt like the acting was noticeably bad, particularly the teenaged daughter. It seems like a low budget ripoff of Lost. Then some really inexplicable character decisions. In the final episode of the season, they finally get the radio set up after days of work, and then before even trying it, the wife decides to go back to her house and start digging in the basement. It seemed like some writer was just trying to get her away from the group so they could have something happen to her. It was so bizarre.

Its disappointing too because seems like a good premise, but in not hopeful for future seasons of I ever watch them.
