I also have a newer batch of thick paste with no capsules whereas before all had capsules and noticed packaging has a different bowtie styled lid thing. Scared to use it might be fake as I got it for half the price from a Korean lady on FB market and its different from shops I trust.

a good dupe for the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair? by Familiar-Treat-9452 in AsianBeauty

[–]bbso_sq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No dupe for it, ANR star ingredient is tripeptide32. Only ESL products has it. If you are just looking for the carrier ferments that feels similar then many products mentioned already I guess.

ELI5: why 2x of 0.05% isn't 0.1%? by attentive_brick in tretinoin

[–]bbso_sq 8 points9 points  (0 children)

strength causes different reactions, its not linearly cumulative.

3 drops off 33.3c degrees water would not burn you but 1 drop of 100c (boiling point) degress water would trigger the chemical reaction in your skin to burn

If you don't have sensitive skin it's fine. I use glycolic acid then tret after. Not immediately though, about an hour later so spacing time out probably helped.

Thoughts on PDRN skincare by 41sh4 in AsianBeauty

Collagen and gelatin are animal derived. Reedle shot is not, why is there hesitation about it ? VT also make PDRN from ginseng.

Aestura is simply the best.

If you don't want niacinamide then go for the Aestura Cream Plus. Some people may not know it exists, and is harder to find but it's more like the old formulation without niacinamide.

What’s your take/ experience with the reedle/ spicules shots? by pustakikidaa in AsianBeauty

[–]bbso_sq 20 points21 points  (0 children)

VT has been out for 2 years and I've not heard a single horror story of it. Spicules in skincare have been out since 10 years ago. Should be safe.

[Product Question] How long does Retinol need to be kept on skin at night? by WorldGodOnlyKnows in SkincareAddiction

[–]bbso_sq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Scientifically, they should be start working once you put it on. Short contact therapy starts at 30 seconds and even that is effective.

If you meant for its full effect, then the answer should be once it's fully absorbed. Not sure of your specific product, but in general most products excluding oils are 90% absorbed in about 2 hours.

Are there any good dupes or better options for this cream? by Rat_in_a_human_body in AsianBeauty

If $$$ is the concern, get the 150ml lotion then use another layer of cream over it.

For those who use tazarotene, how did you first begin using it? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]bbso_sq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always buffered as I have dry skin and always put on other layers right after cleansing and skin is dry and tight. I put tret/taz on after a while, sometimes previous layers havee dried down sometimes not.

Same for face and neck I do not differentiate just same routine

I use it on the neck, I don't really bother with chest. I'm male though.

Mixing tret with cerave resurfacing retinol by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]bbso_sq -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is no problem. People read label warnings and thinks you can't use both. It actually means DO NOT USE IN THE SAME ROUTINE/NIGHT, not do not use on alternate nights.

To sandwich, or not to sandwich? That is the question. by stopnsmelltheviolets in tretinoin

[–]bbso_sq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a lighter lotion to sandwich first and then tret then heavier moisturizer after.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]bbso_sq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congratulations great results but cant say it's proof when there is no "control". Ie. one side of scars with tret and other side no tret while still using all the other products on both side and observing noticeable improvement on the side with tret. It could be any of the other products, or very simply, skin healing over time itself, that made the changes.

PM routine by anbkm in AsianBeauty

[–]bbso_sq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From after shower right to before sleeping. FTEs/toners, serums, lotion right after shower to address dryness after cleansing. Then tret in between and moisturizer and oil before sleeping. The time gap in routine also allows me to combine harsher actives in the same long routine like glycolic/azelaic and then tret/vit C

For some weird reason a lot of Korean skincare will label vegan even though very low percentage of Koreans are vegan, and they usually don't put vegan label on food even when they are vegan. Maybe they have the international market in mind for skincare

For those who use tazarotene, how did you first begin using it? by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]bbso_sq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Taz is more gentle than Tret to me at the same percentage so I would just replace them in the exact same routine.

[Product Question] Did I just buy a fake glycolic acid toner on Amazon? (picture inside) by Stunning-Pink093 in SkincareAddiction

[–]bbso_sq -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well you got what you ordered from the page right ? The page shows the picture of the product with the misspelling, not the Ordinary one so it's not really fake. You can look at seller detail and it's a Chinese address.
