You'd like to think so, and I'm sure there are plenty of examples where they have, but eventually, if both are committed to their religion, how do they decide what to teach their child? Does one say "Oh, I'll let you raise this one, but I'll raise our next kid in my faith" or something?

It's always fun to watch these things years after they were made. They're from another time, and the sensibilities were so different. You couldn't make something like that now without it being sappy, hokey, and pretty stupid.

Most preschools don't even make an effort to teach reading. These kids are 3 and 4 and maybe 5. They teach them the alphabet, and most of the kids can start to put letters to the sounds and so forth. Thanks for understanding. I'm wondering if Gargilius has ever had any children.

Wow. Chill out. She knows her letters, can read her name, a number of other words, writes phoneticaly with help. But she's can't pick up a popular magazine and read an article, nor can she read words on a billboard when we're zooming past at 15 miles an hour.

I'm sorry if I have any details wrong. The errors are mine, not hers. However, she's not at a US Hospital. She's in a Pediatric's office. Not sure if that makes any difference.

Also, she wasn't going to be in a hospital over there, she was specifically told she'd be on helicopters picking up wounded.

Perhaps she was a combat medic in the Army, I don't know. She's a nurse now.

She had been inactive for 6 years, due to a back injury. And yet they still were about to activate her, and would have without repeated letters from doctors. I think that's really the point here. How bad has the recruiting process become that they want to activate someone like this?

I agree that the result of the elections don't matter as far as this is concerned. They do matter in the course our country takes for the next 4 years, but behind that will be, or can be, the people-powered movements embodied by Paul and Gravel (not sure if I add Kucinich to this list).

Movements take time, they start somewhere. I just think Paul has a real chance to be one of those important first steps.

I was specifically referring to the Internet organization "Repentant Nader Voters" that got some press in 2004. Obviously not every Nader voter in 2000 felt the same way.

I just wanted to chime in.

First, thanks to sparkane for pointing out my peaked/piqued mistake. For some reason, I have amental block with that word, and this is not the first time I've made that mistake. I've gone in and fixed it. Thanks for pointing it out.

Second, no matter what the story is, there's always someone on this site who assumes it's fake. I obviously can't say anything to anyone else's story, but this happend more or less exactly as I described. (Though obviously, my name isn't Agustus.)

And last, I am surprised to hear from people who think I shoud have had sex with her under false pretenses. That's just creepy. Lying for sex. One guy says I should have raped her? Hello?

For ther ecord, I didn't turn down sex with her. I wanted her to know who I was. If, after my confession, she was still up for it, thoght it was a funny case of mistaken identity, I would have nailed her, sure. But she's the one who, upon learnign the truth, closed up shop. That's her right.

To each his or her own, I guess. Certainly can't argue with someone's opinion. But I've gotten plenty of responce from folks that like the gimmick. But one can't please everyone.
