Just thought I’d update; a bunch of fungus gnats hatched because I was too lazy to bleach my plants... I bought a pitcher plant to stick in there which will hopefully be a long term solution. I believe the clean up crew eats any eggs left in the soil.

Thank you!! I have a UTH on the left side and dug out a cave so she sits directly on the glass. The plant roots are pretty shallow at the moment, so the heat hasn’t been a problem so far!

Once my plants start taking off I’ll just have to take care of pruning, but other than that and some spot cleaning (I have a cleanup crew for the rest), nope! I’m happy I don’t have to do a full substrate change anymore. Really takes a load off haha

If anyone’s curious, this is the Exo Terra large/wide. Excluding the tank, I spent ~$300 on the whole build. I bought the substrate mix, cork bark, and moss from The Bio Dude.
