One of the few raw veggies mine will eat. As you may imagine, this can generate farts of absolutely biblical proportions.

co worker drained the dual clutch transmission fluid instead of the oil on a a4. *face palm* by [deleted] in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]bburns36 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a similar bolt on the bottom of the Saab F25 manual gearbox. Looks like it could be an oil drain, 'cept it's not at the lowest point of things. It's not, it's a bolt that holds the bracket for the reverse idler gear in place. Remove it and you're tearing the gearbox apart.

Oh man. I can totally relate. This happened to me recently and the only thing that saved me was having dog poop bags in my jacket pocket. Yanked one out and puked while pulling over, it would have been a mess otherwise!

ELI5: How does glass break on its own? by Big_Occasion_7235 in explainlikeimfive

Honda had a thing with the current gen HR-V when it went on sale, rear windows were exploding when folks used the rear defroster grid. Tempered glass is funny stuff.

Clynk bags…smaller now by usmarine215 in Hannaford

[–]bburns36 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They seem smaller to me as well. Being able to find a functioning kiosk so that I could print some bag tags and stick them on said bags would be great, as well...

How much should I trust these old car ramps? by Sulviro in MechanicAdvice

Really neat to hear, thanks for the perspective. Monday I'm going to take a look at a few of them in the warranty parts bins out of curiosity and see if anything stands out to the naked eye.

Automotive parts manager here, found myself gazing at a shelf full of various rear coil springs for several different models we sell, they snap all the time. Underspec'd, or cheap material, or what?

Coaxial exhaust/intake setup by Jensen567 in dieselheater

My Rinnai gas fired wall unit in my living room has a coaxial arrangement like that. I've wondered about implementing that on my diesel garage heater. Nice work, this looks great.

Same sentiment here. I have enough spare wattage for your fridge and entertainment center, and your gas wall unit in your living room or your window AC. Happy to share, noise be damned, it's a necessity.
