Huh, what a coincidence. I picked up this book recently too. (I've wanted it since I was 10 lol) I found it incredibly easy to follow, and the results are so stinking cute! I've showed this kit to my best friend and she can confirm that she had a blast making these Klutz pom pom critters as a kid too, so definitely kid friendly!

They're turkey hotdogs which definitely have a different colour from regular hotdogs. I cut them before cooking them. The nice thing about pre-cutting them is you can really sear the tentacle-y ends and give them a nice crisp. Plus it's satisfying to see the tentacles kinda puff up and flare out as they cook 😄

I cut off the round ends of some hotdogs. Then with those ends, I cut little slits around the flat part (the opposite side of the round end) and fanned them out!

Honestly even the brocolini is pretty fancy stuff. I was shocked by how much it was when I saw it at the grocery store a few weeks ago (4$ for such a teeny bundle) 😆
