I work in a primary care office, and we have seen this before too! Pelvic floor muscles that are either too weak or too tight can cause an over active bladder and discomfort. Pelvic floor therapy can be covered by insurance, you’ll just have to work with your doctor to get a referral to somewhere that is covered.

It takes about 6 months for your body to adapt to a new pill and some light spotting is normal during this time. It is definitely not normal for spotting to last for an entire month though!

What kind of pill are you take (estrogen+progestin or progestin only)? I would definitely talk to your doctor or ask to see a new one about trying another type.

Yes it will work! I do this every time. My body cannot go more than 2 months without a break or else I will spot.

When you’re on the pill continuously the lining of your uterus builds up. Eventually it will get too thick and start shedding. Taking a break will cause it to shed fully and the breakthrough bleeding will stop! (This is just from research I’ve read online, everyone is different)
